Re: Past Raiders teams with most Internationals

Just another reminder that that 1994 Raiders side has to be the most ridiculously talented group of Rugby League players ever assembled in one club.

Re: New recruits

CNK is a great reminder of the difference a natural fullback makes, particularly on kicks. He always seems to be in great position to field and return kick. His defensive positioning still needs a bit of work, but he's still learning our system, so I can forgive that.

Re: New recruits

I was impressed with Sutton. I watched him at the back end of the season at Wigan last year and wasn't impressed at all. I assume it was because he'd been injured and was a little out of shape. He looks fit and very solid, particularly defensively.

Re: 2019 Rd 3 V Knights: Game Day

You need a few of those games to get into the finals. We had a lot go against us despite being largely the dominate team. As others have said CNK and Bateman have been fantastic. Wighton is still a work in progress... not convinced he's a 6. Thought Sammy was solid tonight. Once Cotric, Papa, Rapana...

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly interested in Wigan half George Williams

I'm all for signing more quality English players. Most of these players grew up in smaller northern cities like Leeds, Hull, Bradford or Wigan - so a smaller city like Canberra looks like an attractive option. The Canberra winter doesn't scare them and the climate is generally a massive upgrade. Now...

I think you have to go with the ones that have performed in First Grade before (with the exception of Luke Bateman) and below is the team that I think we should run out with. Horsburgh, Hunt and Murchie will definitely get a run not too far into the season. Really torn about who plays at lock. I wou...

Maybe this is the secret to ending our 70 minute fadeouts: Every try scored in the last ten minutes is a free Maccas Meal; Every try conceded equals one day of fasting.

I do enjoy how when we keep asking the same questions, we come up with the same answer in spite of evidence to the contrary. Is Wighton a half at NRL level? Can you turn a half into a hooker overnight? Why can't we win close games?

Re: Canberra Raiders express interest in Kiwi superstar Shaun Johnson

I have a feeling we have a little more cap wriggle-room than people believe. Better than where we were this time last year. Of the players leaving, Paulo and Boyd were not on small coin and we'd tabled a $700K per annum offer for Austin. We've upgraded a few players like Tapine and Cotric and signed...

Re: Ryley Jacks linked to Canberra Raiders

When your attack is the second best in the league but you finish 10th and a winger and your fullback have as many try assists as your two primary halves... buying a defensively sound half who can distribute the ball sounds like a good move to me.

Re: Ryley Jacks linked to Canberra Raiders

If Ryley Jacks is as good a defensive half as his stats say, then I'll take him. We don't need to upgrade our attack. We need a massive upgrade on our defence. Our line breaks and assists don't really come from our halves anyway. If he can shift the ball and get our edges in motion with Wighton ball...
