Re: What's wrong with us right now?

Drinkwater sucks. His game on the weekend was abysmal. He kept dropping it cold. Literally everything he touched turned to **** Drinkwater is one of the biggest problems at the Cowboys right now. He's about 5 rocks for every diamond. Contiually takes poor options and confuses the players around him...

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

All opinions welcome but respectfully he’s far from the problem at NQ. They bought Holmes opportunistically and threw out the plan they had for FB. We could use ball players wider than one pass from the ruck and he’s got tonnes of improvement. Watch his formative years, there’s a reason he was earma...

Panthers were not happy to release him.
He’s as legitimate chance of replacing Bateman and improving our variation in attack on the edge as your likely to find.

I’m inclined to think we won’t see the season completed, which would be in line with what 2020 has offered thus far.

In a vacuum, sure. He's a really, really good winger

But that contract and his insistence on playing fullback? No thanks
Exactly.
And he’s not close to being the best fullback at the club.
So we try to pinch the guy that is IMO.
His contract would be considerably friendly too.

I don’t think signing CHN would result in much backlash at all There would be a 24 hr news cycle of course and people who have their say but I don’t think it would be one that lasted much beyond that Agree. I've always thought he had a strong case and I hope I'm right despite his poor form..
Maybe post fiasco the monkey will be off his back and he may come good...at least that's what I'm hoping for.

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

If you want a long term solution for fullback, you target Drinkwater. The Cowboys are a mess and with Val Holmes ego occupying its own roster spot, its a matter of time before they rearrange the deck chairs so to speak... He may not be a big body, but with Rapana, CNK, (possibly Cotric) covering the...

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

The try CNK scored had a heavy whiff of a try a lot of centres score too The more I think of it, the more I’m convinced our best pivot for 2021 would be to find a fullback and plug the centre hole with CNK He's a big enough body to score those sort of tries, but the concern (and rightfully) are his...

Re: What's wrong with us right now?

I had a deeper think about him at centre, which I was a fan of, and came to realise he wouldn't be suited there either. With up and in defences, one of the main attacking skills a centre needs these days is quick release passing, accurately, to put his winger away. As a proportion of an overall pas...

Id be wrapped if we signed isaiah papalii and chn. I reckon we are covered with havili and starling at hooker Agree. You look for players that will be part of a longer term strategy. Re: Ennis - Sign Billy Walters

He’s not a hooker. He’s had 1 pre season and like 3 games at dummy half. It’s a pretty ordinary suggestion from Ennis and isn’t even worth the discussion imo. This seasons rule changes has shown that actual hookers, not fill in halves, are essential. Spot on. We'd be left carrying his salary in res...

We shouldn’t be panic buying for this season.
Use it to develop what we have and find the long term solution for the edge/middle forwards.
Preferably a long term front row partner for Papalii.

Ricky Stuart / Josh Hodgson led teams have scored more points than any other side since Hodgo arrived. Our attack is not conservative. This meme needs to die. Re: 2020 Rd 9 V Storm: Game Day

Yeah, it's a tragic irony that we've picked up a top shelf attacking halfback (who defends strongly to boot) at the same time as our strategic game plan is the equivalent of a turtle going into its shell. Frankly, we shouldn't be berating George, it's George who isn't getting what he deserves from ...

The 2016 style relied on massive forwards who's poor mobility in the middle cost us for another two seasons once it was figured out. It's doubtful we could attack that way and defend like last year. Yeah I agree and credit to Ricky for identifying the problem and running with the more mobile pack w...

He did well but not keen on him starting at the moment. Better suited providing some energy off the bench. I liked what Sutton offered starting the week before. He works well in those tough early exchanges. Save O’Donnell for when the pace of the game starts to wane and he can give is some spark. C...

I’d be cutting ties now.
He’s not part of the long term plan and we’re not winning the title with our depleted team.
Continue to blood the younger players and run the attack through our halves.
Take the spare cap room and find an adequate middle who can spell Papalii.
