Las Vegas games and behind the scenes in the NRL
I subscribe to an advertising/marketing email and was surprised to see mention of these games and the fact there will be an exodus of executive staff from the NRL this week. Firstly, Peter V’landys has revealed the league is currently in talks with US broadcaster Fox for a five-year, $200 million br...

As expected, I'll be awaiting a 2024 pre-election announcement about a new stadium in a redeveloped AIS precinct. Sent from my CPH2021 using Tapatalk Wow. Huge surprise. Re: A new Canberra Stadium
If you read the Canberra Times report, it mentions that the new stadium will be built by 2030. The previous target date was 2030. There's been no change to the seating capacity. So, why it will now take an extra two years is anyone's guess. BTW, Bankswest Stadium and Townsville stadium both took onl...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
Ha ha. Barr has perfected these sporting infrastructure studies and promises in an election year. He pushed a Civic stadium for years and years and the Tuggeranong Ice Rink is now in its 3rd election period promise. Was meant to be built in 2019 and we’d be skating before the 2020 ACT election. It’...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
It looks like it will take the Uni of Canberra only one feasibility study before it applies for funding and gets construction underway. Barr and his lot are now onto the sixth study. Unfortunately, "rumours they were looking to build a 14,000-seat rectangular stadium for sports like rugby union...

The cops actually formed a strike force to investigate this and it still took about three years to come up with this result.

Penrith’s getting $309 million for what is effectively the number four rectangular ground in Sydney. No chance of concerts, rugby union and only the odd soccer game there. The Matilda’s have well and truly outgrown it, they’ll surely play at Parramatta now at the very least. And we’ve still heard n...

Re: A new Canberra Stadium
I was saying they could make money by extracting money out of the local councils. But could they find more than a few willing? They probably make a bit on the small crowds, as the costs of staging are not the same as a real stadium. The ACT government wouldn’t agree, nor should they, and the Canber...

Re: Canberra Raiders snubbed by NRL for Las Vegas double header
I've got no issue with us not going. We play a boring, uninspiring style. Not great advertising. And I'm quite happy for our team not to have to deal with jet lag in the first few weeks of a new season. Based on what we saw against the Storm today, it would have been a case of the NRL shooting them...

The only silverlining to this is that despite the loss, Raiders will still be in 6th place.

Good luck in retirement to him. He got us to a GF and was level-pegging with Cameron Smith for best hooker in the world at one point. Super competitive. It should be acknowledged that aside from two key moments in that match, Schneider's game was riddled with errors and poor decisions. Campbell will play, no doubt. Withdrew from SOO because he can't train early in the week. He has been doing this for weeks. Being overlooked for Origin, Cook will be trying to prove he should have been named. Add to that it will be Croker's 300th game. Raiders rarely do well when that sort of press...
