Re: Mounties end NSW Cup time with Canberra Raiders

I have looked at the finances. I’m very confident the Raiders Group could have afforded the handful of extra part time players required and some operational costs. They chose not to. They even support other codes of football instead. The closure of clubs due to coronavirus, however, will have hit t...

Re: OFFICIAL: Bateman 'won't be at Raiders in 2021'

Should Moses manage to win his appeal and remain an accredited agent, I think players will look at how this was handled and be much warier when he comes a courting saying he can get them $X more if they sign with him.

Re: Canterbury Bulldogs reportedly targeting Nick Cotric

If Scott has to be picked in NRL because of the money he's on, stick him on the wing and bring Cotric into the centre spot.

Bateman leaving would free up some cap space and besides, we appear to have signed another Wigan young gun presumably to replace Bateman.

Re: John Bateman in talks for $3.5m return to Super League

I'm wondering whether Don Jnr had doubts about Bateman's recovery due to limited rehab. That could explain why he seemed so at ease with the idea of letting him test his market value. Either that or he felt that Bateman and Moses needed to be brought back to Earth. Either way, it's me just speculati...

Could be time to play hard ball. Wigan reimburses the Raiders the transfer fee. No money, no Bateman.

Let's see what sort of offers he gets if he's not even on the extended bench.

We're certainly not getting full value out of Bateman this season. He might only be available for 16 premiership rounds at $40,625 a game.

Mind you, if he only plays a handful of games in the finals with a GF win at the end, then I'll happily do an about face on my comment above.

Seems like an age ago but didn't Tapine actually line up in the second row in rd2? Even if he wasn't named there. I'd think he'd be an obvious replacement which opens up a lot more options as far as using Bateman's money. Tapine has been named in the 2nd row for this week's game against the Storm. ...
