https://amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2024/apr/18/labor-hecs-fee-help-debt-indexation About bloody time they did something on HECS indexation. It really is one of the more egregious rorts in this country, devised by people that likely got their education for free. Imagine paying your mortgage a...

He seems to have slipped under the radar a bit with the great form of Timoko and the rise of Savage, Strange etc... But I am looking for a big game from Seb Kris. I reckon he has started the season a bit quiet and playing within himself. Don't get me wrong, he hasn't been bad or anything but I think...

Re: Newcastle Knights sign Canberra Raiders back James Schiller
This sucks. Knights fans scouring this forum will be thrilled as the best barometer for whether a signing is a good one is the reaction of the fans of the team being left behind. Did I completely imagine something with Schiller relating to attitude and popularity (or lack thereof) within the playing...

If Barr is re-elected there is very little doubt in my mind we will be here in April 2028 on page 272 of this tread having this exact same discussion.
This whole thing became a farce many many years ago and the bloke is simply not engaging in this issue in good faith.

They say that the sign of good teams is winning when you don’t play well.
I am not sure that is us yet but maybe it is a matter of this very young team will have its ups and downs and managing to convert the down periods into wins is a bonus.

I can’t remember a time we have taken the 2 to go up by 4 where we have gone on to win the game.
And it has happened a large handful of time in recent years.

I gotta give some credit to the Titans. This is a pretty professional performance from us so far and they are hanging in there and giving themselves a chance despite our dominance.

I mean yeah if you’re playing Football Manager you try lock him in long term whilst his value only reflects being a NSW cup player. But if you’re his manager you’re insane if you’re advising him to sign now when his value wikl probably shortly skyrocket when he shows he is clearly a FGer over the co...

Sam Verrills and I got to the same barber (literally) and he would 100% fit with the culture of the club - is a top bloke. I think we will and should sign Rapana for next year. Asomua is looking promising but still raw and he will 100% play first grade next year but I can’t see Rapana not being one...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Teams and Previews
I don't think Seb has been sizzling so far this season. I actually think he has been a bit quiet and tentative. On TLT, it will be fascinating to see what Ricky decides to do because there are actually quite a lot of selection headaches to deal with. Does he bring in/retain Ricky favourites such as ...

Speed baby.
Surely even Ricky can now see that the only thing that makes these sort of tries possible is not stacking the backline with sluggish metre eaters.

There's no one better in open space in the comp than Sav. None. So good Having the lingering threat of that speed and ability out wide should give you more you more space in the centre and edges. The Eels will remember that and be careful in compressing their line because they know that's the risk ...

As always with these sort of games, 12 points lead isn’t enough when you’re dominating like this and the opposition is stinking it up.
Need to score again before half time.

I’m not feeling fantastic about this game.
If we play like rounds 1-3 it will be tight and we are a chance. If we play like last weekend it’s going to be a shellacking.

Re: 2024 NRL Round 5: Teams and Game Day
Souths are a mess.
It is clearly toxic in there and the unhealthy dynamic between coach and players with the favouritism towards the likes of Latrell and Walker has barely even been denied.
Doubt JD can hang on for much longer if it keeps going this way.
