Re: 2022 Rd 16 V Dragons: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Canberra Raiders' run home has them primed for NRL finals The Raiders have one of the easiest draws of the six clubs fighting it out for the bottom two spots in the top eight. Using the average ladder position of their opponents as a guide to how tough the remaining fixtures were, the Raiders have ...

Re: 2022 Rd 16 V Dragons: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
The only thing I can think of doing with that bench is bringing on CNK for Whitehead and shifting Kris to second row, CNK to centre. What will actually happen though is Whitehead will have another disastrous and/or ineffectual 80 minutes and CNK will rot on the bench as a wasted bench spot as we ine...

Slater is getting plenty of plaudits but I don’t think leaving papa off while you are getting overrun and signs of fatigue abound while the game is in the balance is worthy of praise.

Re: Ricky Stuart says he’ll never again coach against the Canberra Raiders
Usually the club waits for a Ricky “bull market” to re-sign him. Will be interesting to see the reaction if Rocky guides us to our fourth 10th place finish in 6 years; next year starts looking mediocre too; but he is offered a new contract. To be sure, I have no doubt they will continue on their mer...

Really pleasing to see those sort of comments from Tapine. I’d be tempted to throw him the (C) very soon. Particularly with Whitehead declining at a rate of knots. I firmly believe that, whilst your captain doesn’t need to be the best player on the team, they simply can’t be a liability. I feel that...

Greens smashing tax reform... tbh labor should put through the shift to 30% tax rate from 45-200k and eventually expand from there. Happy to have company tax rates increased back to 30%. Greens have a problem with lumping everyone into the corporations / billionaires brackets when they clearly aren...

Re: Zac Woolford set to secure new two year deal at Canberra Raiders
2 years at the right money is a mutually beneficial outcome here. He gets time to prove he is the long term solution; and the club gets time to assess whether his good form is sustainable or just a flash in the pan. It would be nice if the good bits of business the club did like this weren’t complet...

Re: 2022 Rd 15 V Knights: Game Day
No thank you to CNK being parachuted straight back in. I love CNK but his ceiling is nowhere near Savages. It’s not like we are in a situation whereby we are one piece away from winning the comp and the risk of Savage being a liability in a big moment is too great. We are actively hunting for ways t...

I thought Fogarty’s kicking game in the attacking zones was excellent yesterday. But he needs work on the other areas of his game. Sitting behind the goal lines yesterday (not a place I usually sit) I did notice it was Fogarty and Whitehead who were getting the defensive numbers in the right place ...

Re: Elliott Whitehead
There is a perfectly cromulent, mutually beneficial solution available with EW where he doesn’t need to be seen to have been thrown under the bus and Ricky can save face with one of his locker room guys. His minutes should be reduced either from the starting 13 or from the bench. This means we can s...

I reckon people are being a bit harsh on the Fog tbh. A few nice repeat sets; a try assist; and a promising combo with Xav building. Likewise if people are calling for Xav to be dropped. He is a legitimate point of difference in an otherwise dismal attack, notwithstanding that he is a rocks and diam...

14-6 at halftime is an awful result considering.
Looking forward to us taking a penalty goal after halftime to push it to 16-6 as the next typical sign that we are going to blow it.

I’ll actually extend the no excuses sentiment to our season as a whole.
Our run home is actually really favourable. 8/10 games are against bottom 9 sides.
No excuses. If we fail to make the 8 it is another resounding failure for Ricky and the team.

I have no doubt there would be a fountain of excuses forthcoming if we were to lose this game…but really, there are no excuses for losing this one. Knights are a garbage bottom 4 side. We are at home. We need the W to stay in touch with the top 8. Therefore there is a good chance we will blow it and...

The Pork is bang on that the Raiders more than most clubs need to show loyalty. So I’m okay with letting players go a bit past their peak to make it clear to everyone it’s the right call before axing a sacred cow (assuming we’re not in a year where we’re legitimately tilting at the premiership). Bu...

Really enjoyed Arnie J exposing how much of a liability Whitehead is now. He has been on the decline since about July 2020 and the brains trust decided to voluntarily place lead in our saddle bags by signing him up long term despite the obvious decline. Why oh why does Ricky always take months or ye...

If someone puts forward an opinion or idea, the legitimacy of that opinion or idea is not contingent on how many times someone has voted Liberal, or Greens, or Labor, or UAP, or the ***** bullet train for Canberra party.
