Re: The Politics Thread 2020

I have seen reports about the national debt forecast to sit somewhere in the vicinity of 1.4 trillion, with 3/4 of it federal debt. That number sounds pretty big. I also note that it sounded pretty dire in 2013 when we were in the midst of a debt and deficit disaster, however that disaster seemed to...

I'm quite well aware of post Keynesian economics. I guess the benefit of formal economic qualifications is that you develop a deep understanding of various economic frameworks. Jack Wighton under-utilised on the edge.

I know he is the darling of the Sydney media and all that but if you want a half running at the line to bust the game open it isn't Cleary. It is Jack.

Nice to see Trump going out with one last grift, sending out mass emails asking for donations to help pay for the recounts while the fine print says 50-60% of the proceeds will go to paying off campaign debts. In the end this will be a solid win for Biden...or more accurately solid rebuke of Trumpism and it's politics, though not quite the rebuke desired. 7 is pretty generous IMO.

For mine it is more like a 4/5. Maybe I’ll bump him to 5.5 because his goal kicking this year was good.

Croker worries me because he is lacking the things (pace and power) which Father Time does not return to you once he has taken them away the first time.

Could see that going either way. I think generally you’re correct, but Dunamis strikes me as the type of player who does take unders to be where he’s happy. I have a feeling Lui making the Origin squad means that we won't be able to keep him past 2021.

From recollection we managed to get him on a bargain 250k contract. I am pretty sure an Origin calibre prop still in his prime should be able to command comfortably more than that.
