Hopoate over Cotric and Whitehead's return to first grade are not egregious selections. They're reasonable.
Just be happy we're winning, Hosking is playing great and Hopoate is doing his job.

Re: Hosking and coaching favourites
If the only objectionable selections Ricky makes are a winger and second rower, he's doing well.
There are always one or two selections that can be quibbled over and that includes when we were winning premierships.
All coaches and organisations have 'favourites'.

Good outcome all round, I think. Best of luck to him at the Dragons but I think Ricky is on the right path here giving the young blokes a go.

Don't worry about a bandwagon. Start building an arc. Noah will be ready to contend for a first-grade starting spot in 12 months-time if he gets enough opportunities this year.
Some people here wouldn't know talent if it ran over them on the way to the try-line.

Re: Canberra Raiders express interest in Cowboys forward Luciano Leilua
Noah Martin is only 18 years old. He had the physical presence out there of someone in his mid-20's. I'm a big fan of the Leilua clan, but I'm not a fan of blocking the pathway to first grade of genuinely talented youngsters with underperformers from other clubs. And not for $900k. Very impressed with the 18-year old back rower, Noah Martin, and Schiller in the centres. Plenty of young talent out there with Strange, Stewart and Sanders.
We're going to need to be patient with them if Ricky picks them all in FG. Not necessarily the forum's strong suit.

We're looking okay in the centres, although I'd take Lomax if we could get him b/c it strengthens the position. I like Seb Kris but his defensive shortcomings will be exposed in the front line. HSS is another good option for left centre notwithstanding the misfire coming off a long injury layoff ear...

Lomax would look good in a Raiders jersey. Timoko could play left centre no problem.
I think Lomax is a better centre option than Kris. He's a physically stronger, more robust player.
It's been suggested that Saints are willing to move him on b/c he's on too much. We should be making inquiries.

Agree with Mal as #1. I'd have Laurie and Bradley at #2 and #3 respectively. Ricky and Boxhead at 4 and 5. Don't think the order matters from there. I'd have Brett Mullins and Jackie Boi in my top 10 instead of Jason Croker and Chicka. Personal preference, I guess. Mullins and Chicka were both excit...

Was disappointed he didn't beat the cover defence and make it up the other end.
Nice footwork making it out of the in-goal though.

How good was Timoko's try to open our account tonight? Got the ball in space but with work to do and then proceeded to toss Munster off like a stuffed koala bear on his way to the try line. I love seeing a quality centre-three quarter do his thing. I reckon HSS to left centre next year with Seb Kris...

Our season so far? First half of season - "Adam Elliott can't play". Second half of season - "Elliott Whitehead can't play". All year - "Ricky can't coach". I can understand the anti-Elliott sentiment as a carry-over from the Matt Elliott years (some fans will never rec...

Ricky has given the side a Melbourne Cup preparation. We're peaking at the right time. Who says you don't know how to manage a bench rotation?
It doesn't get much better than booting the Bwoncos out of the finals.

When one of our players was publicly called out for a "dog-shot" by a high profile Sydney player (State of Origin captain, no less), why didn't the NRL launch an investigation then? Do they only investigate when a player's mummy or daddy publicly call for it? Also will the Penrith player a...

A gross over-reaction from everyone all round here. Yes, including Ricky. Regarding what happened in the tackle, I thought it was quite bad and worthy of a 2 week suspension. Glad Ricky's back on board and hasn't succumbed to the whinging Wilma's who haven't got a clue how to put the club back on top when Ricky already has.

Surprised Ricky hasn't walked given all the criticism he receives on here. Does Ricky get any credit for the team we currently have? A week ago they were wooden spoon contenders but it seems to me there's plenty of potential there. At full-back, CNK. 3. Jackie Boi
2. Papa
1. Joe Tapine
Honourable mentions:
The halfback. Haven't seen him play before. His mistake with the game on the line was a minus. Everything else was a plus. Schneider.
Semi - Ran hard and straight at right centre. Should hold his place.

A player I would have prioritized to keep. Papa isn't getting any younger.
