Re: Players who make players around them better

Whitehead definitely!

Not only for his defence / covering defense.

But in attack he can throw a great ball and put a great kick in, he’s like a wade graham but probably not paid anywhere near the same..

Re: Players who make players around them better

That article is complicated I'm not sure if this is the same thing the author means, but Joey Johns was the best player I've ever seen to make everyone better. Remember that season where Newcastle were garbage while he was injured, then he came back and all these rubbish players looked like world b...

Re: Players who make players around them better

https://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/15/magazine/15Battier-t.html Its an interesting article, and it is where I think the raiders could probably get the most improvement relative to other sides in a salary cap era. Everyone looks at super coach type stats, tackle, mis tackles, tries, try assists, try ca...

Re: Players who make players around them better

Im not sure i understand this thread... Based on the intro, i would say I dont trust the eyes of anyone who thinks JB doesnt make the players around him and his team better. He's the quintessential example of this. But then we've got Nigel Plum being held up as a player who did this... i liked the ...

Re: Ideal position on the ladder

I can’t see Parramatta losing to either Broncos or Tigers. Think there’s a lot of wishful thinking. tigers at leichhardt for benjis last game, no pressure of playing for 8th with 9th already locked in the bag it could happen. The tigers always come home strong, just need to stay with parra for the ...

Fascinating talk on the Matty Johns Podcast this week about halves combinations, and the evolution of attack in general since the 80s. So interesting how Matty and Joey used to have signals for each other on what plays to use and even on-the-fly, to communicate if a player had say come out of the d...

Re: Ideas for more creativity

Our defence is not even close to the standard it was at last year.. not even close! Last year I just had this sheer confidence that we could keep any team at bay.. that we could repel set after set on our line regardless of the opposition. I just KNEW that the opposition weren't going to score when...

Super is a contribution paid by the employer on top of normal salary/wages. It is compulsory for them to pay it. It's not taking money away from the employee.
