Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023

Curtis Scott is out of form,,, Yes. He is young, has good skills and plenty of potential. I'm not trolling here. I seriously want to know where you formed the view that he has good skills? I didn't follow him carefully when he was at the Storm (only noticed him in a couple of games when he made err...

Re: Curtis Scott signs with Canberra Raiders to end 2023

Curtis Scott is out of form,,, Yes. However, I think he will prove to be a solid signing. He is young, has good skills and plenty of potential. Hopefully he can get the court case done and dusted, clear his mind and just concentrate on playing footy. Stick with him long term. Exactly. I can recall ...

Nah one blow up , it’s all good you should bank on about 5 of them a season...

But then he probably scores or creates 15 tries a season no one else does

Re: Canberra Raiders offer Nick Cotric three-year deal

First off I think there is a limit and the club should stick to its limit whatever that is for cotric, if he wants the bulldogs money then it is what it is. If cotric is gone, without a strike replacement at what point are back to the pack and consider a bit of an overhaul? The problem with our back...

I felt that i was pretty noisy at the time that moving leilua regardless of what you do with bateman was stupid.

When you are in a premiership window you dont can ppl on the last year of a relatively club favourable deal.

tbh I am going to have a hard time cheering john bateman on if he comes back before the end of the year.

Dont get me wrong i will cheer him on, but less enthusiastically.

Once he is playing for the dogs, I am going to get a lot of joy cheering his opposite number hoping he does a job on him.

I don't think any single player is to blame. I really do think they are playing the footy tactically that stick wants. Its just not the right tactics since the rule change. We are too predictable so to speak. Watch how the roosters use their back row compared to our guys. Look at how parra were off...

The loss wasn’t on coaching... manly loss maybe put down to coaching refs luck Hodgson... but last night we just weren’t good enough..

Tbh parra look better without Moses except for Takarangis kicking game.

Parra tends to get reffed very well this year as well.

IMO - this game will come down to who defends worse between mitch moses and curtis scott.

Re: Referees versus Raiders

If the coaching team sees the replay that it was clearly the wrong decision we should appeal regardless of game time. Imo if it is clear the refs are wrong that is when you should challenge. Also I’m pretty sure he dropped the ball before the whistle blew so we may have Had an attacking set 20 metre...

Our attack when we are losing

Just from the eye test, to me, we attack as if we are under pressure to score on each play when we are losing as opposed to when we are winning. Even against the tigers where we won in the end, you could see us wrestle back a bit of momentum but when it came to the crunch often went for the big play...

Re: 2020 Rd 7 V Parramatta Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

Rewatched the Manly game - yes I'm a sucker for punishment. Our forwards actually did a good job. I don't blame the loss on them at all. Where it all went wrong was with our right side defence and clunky attack... The clunky attack starts with Hodgo...he just needs to give consistent crisp early ba...

Yeah absolutely agree that the decline in form of CNK and Hodgo is why we are struggling. I'm more concerned about the former, cos I'm convinced Hodgson can snap out of it. It's pretty unsurprising with him, he always seems to have a run in form where he overplays his hand and we are crucified for ...

Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Sea Eagles: Game Day

I think people are hating on CNK to much here. a quality play out the back only works off a decent play the ball and good work inside them. Yes, CNK doesnt have much of a passing game, but he could still be highly effective out the back if given space from those inside him and a fatiguing defensive ...

Yep. Taps is not great with edge defence at any rate, and edge defence for second rowers is primarily attitude and fitness. Hudson is going to bust a gut covering from the inside...he has everything to prove. Defence in the centres is also about making good reads, and while Cotric is not currently ...

All Curtis needs is ONE breakout performance. He'll get into his groove, find his funk.. We've been very clunky as a unit since the return. Even against Storm our 2nd half was avg. Well the ref has had a big hand in this - so many forward passes ignored, over abundance of restarts for Manly but few for Raiders for exactly same issues, penalties all Manly’s way. Raiders have put their heart and soul into this and had three almost tries. Were right in the game all along. Didn’t...

IMO this game as most big games will, come down to hodgsons attack. Hodgson plays well we beat melbourne Hodgson is poor we get pumped by newcastle. We can beat mediocre teams with hodgson going ok or poor but good ones we need hodgson to shine. For that we need our sets to roll forward, he needs to...

I think the biggest question mark is curtis scott, you simply cannot be as non damaging as he is and dropping balls / making defensive errors.

If only we had Leila to finish this year off, then we could go buy a decent centre in the off season.

I like cotric coming off the wing to start sets and finish tries.

If he continues to be garbage we should try raps a or Simonsson in the centres..

My view remains the same too. The key focus should be on what benefits the team and their preparation. That means playing home games in Canberra as soon as possible, so as to minimise their travel, if necessary, in front of no crowd. It should be happening next week. It should have happened last we...
