Re: The Politics Thread 2019

Actually, the answer was, everything is included. Which is the best form of any consumption tax. Food was only exempted after negotiations in the Senate to pass legislation. If it were up to me (and let's all hope that one day it is), raw food, such as fruit/vegetables, meat and pasta would be tax-...

Imo this is garbage for one the senate is less representative the house of reps due to state vote distortion with nsw voting in 6 senators and Tasmania also have long 6 senators. Re: The Politics Thread 2019

Papa why should they get blamed for blocking “good” laws such as tax cuts to higher brackets when many don’t consider that a “good” law, if they block ones like that I think they’d be acting on behalf of what many voters actually want. Not sure if any polls similar have been done in Australia but i...

The Senate is going to be interesting, I think - here's an ABC prediction somebody screencapped: You need 39 to pass anything. LNP + One Nation + Bernadi = 37. Seems like nothing's getting through without support from either Labor / Greens / Centre Alliance. Lambie alone wouldn't be enough, but she...

Carbon dioxide pollution is a significant cause of climate change. And plastic pollution, while being a serious environmental problem, is far less of a concern than climate change. Hope that helps address your concerns. I am told there is a continent of plastic outside South America with sea life a...

Fundamentally pmising to help tank an already tanking market was a bad idea. It might have been ok with housing burning to hot. But now it just doesn’t work. Re: The Politics Thread 2019

Agree with Zim. Dubby's post may have been a reasonable topic for discussion but prefacing it with a sarcastic comment does not inspire rational debate. I made comment earlier that I'm less worried about Australia's impact on CO2 levels and it's affect on climate change. I am far more concerned abo...

Honestly, the responses towards dubby have been very disappointing. He has put his argument out there. A lot of people disagree with it. TBH I disagree the premise behind denying climate change. However, the point about Australia's contribution towards CO2 emissions and what changing to 50% renewabl...

Re: Canberra Raiders looking to re-sign Jordan Rapana

Oates is Brisbane’s best player.

I would have Oates up there as one of the top wingers in our game with raps right behind vunavalu.

Oates is also younger and not injured compared to raps.

Re: Canberra Raiders looking to re-sign Jordan Rapana

As players get older they get injured more.

That’s the biggest thing for me is whether we are just putting our cap into the sideline.

The other thing for me is someone mentioned a player option. Imo no player option if you can avoid it.

It just kicks you around completely unnecessarily.

Imo our problem isn’t so much no decoy runners it’s that our guys pass it to the decoys all the time so they ain’t decoys anymore.

We know Josh Hodgson is easily the best spine player we have. He knows it too, as does Ricky. That doesn't mean he should take it upon himself to try and run every single facet of our game. If you couldn’t see the rough reffing you weren’t watching the game. It’s why I don’t bother going to Brookvale often. We didn’t play as good as we could and they showed a lot of heart down 12-0 dice out no turbo etc. But really early in the second half we knocked on, on a dicey one but clearly a kn...

Maybe, brisbane appeared to be getting off their line and pretty enthusiastic all match.

Parra are playing a lot better but a lot of their talent is in their outside backs then there middle.

Game plan aside our middle looked a lot more enthusiastic, energy filled against parra then brisbane.
