Re: Health and fitness

Oh I'm considering whether I can swing enough leave to go for the Spartan Ultra World Champs in Morzine, France in July I'll be there later in the month for the Olympics so if I did Morzine, I'd just stay over there till the Olympics, which would make it a very long time away, so not sure it's doabl...

Oh wow! Congrats Coastal! And godspeed [emoji120] UTMB is almost like unattainable bucket list material even for most of us in the endurance game. Conquest of Paradise, some might say! Will very keenly await your race report.

Re: Health and fitness

Doc: Have your 5 years on the trails been for anything other than personal preference? I'm more asking about for reduced impact on joints and muscles? Are you doing any road running in prep for Canberra? What's the time needed for Comrades? Do you have a personal target outside that? I get what Ross...

Re: Health and fitness

I don't see myself stopping running. I genuinely enjoy my Sunday trail runs and I like the fitness benefits of running. But I don't like entering a race if I'm not at or near optimum fitness. I'm not sure yet if I want to continue with that kind of commitment much longer, that's all. I've also picke...

Epic race report, Doc [emoji108] In contrast to gerg, I actually think your report makes it sound appealing. Completely fkd to actually go through in the moment but after it's all done? Oh ****, has it been that long since I posted? No my thing was a tuktuk through India thing. That ended up being 3000km in 2 weeks at an average speed of 35km/h. Do the math - a LOT of driving. Hello all. Excuse my absence, Zaius is writing me up a note. I'm now a Melbournian but I promise I'm still alright. I can't even remember if I posted about doing the Mt Bulla Spartan back in Feb? But that was my first race since pre covid and went pretty well. I've got my eyes on a few races first h...

Re: Canberra Raiders in line for Origin selection

Good to see both Hors and Huddo in the conversation for Origin. From the time they debuted I could see both had the fire to progress to that next level. It's the same fire that led to both having issues with their discipline on field. Credit to them and the coaching staff working hard to focus that...

Remember that game against the Bunnies where Horse and Hudson had clearly been given the instruction to get into Surgess all game? And they did a great job and really got under his skin. Similar vein as Papa on Gallen

Re: Health and fitness

I was up there on the weekend, around the old Queen Victoria Hospital. They've smoothed the roads out in prep for UTA. Work vehicles also seemed to be coming out from deeper Kings Tableland Rd. May they're adding distance that way with an out and back in?

I just knocked off Run Larapinta. Four stages over 4 days - 20, 41, 31 and 45km. Over 4000m elevation. Absolutely brutal. Exposed, rocky, treacherous But stunningly beautiful. Sounds mad. How'd did your body feel backing up each day? I presume coming into second day was alright, but after that? Sen...

It's not an actual race. It's just a choose your own adventure type of thing, end capped with a couple of parties with the other tuktuk teams. It's a bit hectic but that's the point.

Helium is cool, I had my eyes on that for years but never justified a new purchase. I considered the Bonatti instead of the Zeolite! Zeolite was cheaper and Bonatti seemed to have that extra space for running vest but for my purposes I wanted a tighter fit. Both Shakedry material tho, I'm sure you c...
