Re: 2019 Representative Round: Teams and Game Day

That is a pretty disappointing crowd, given the number of people at the Women's Origin last night and the numbers at the same fixture in previous years. The venue clearly was an issue, it needed to be further west. Western Sydney Stadium should have seen an opportunity and staged the event... at mu...

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

I feel a bit sorry for Sezer. I do like him, he seems like a decent enough bloke and he's found a good bit of form of late. But the fact is Jack's locked down the six and we aren't signing an English test half for him to play at Mounties.

He's just starting to show his age I think. His lateral speed is almost completely gone at this point.

It's been an amazing career but we're well and truly into the twilight of it.

I really don’t care if the video can or can’t look at it. I also don’t care if he tickled him with a **** feather. It was contact with the head in a tackle which is a penalty. And given the fact that Gallen got a penalty - which led directly to a try - for slapping Bateman whilst in possession, I’m ...

They’re saying 4-6 weeks for Cotric, but that could equal just one game with the way the draw is. Our next game isn’t until the 29th, and after that we’re not back on deck till July 14.

I was blowing up a skootch dramatically in the game thread, but **** hell there were two un-pinged high shots in the second half, the penalty against Bateman should’ve been against Gallen and that was 100% a shoulder charge by Fifita.

Re: Williams or Sezer?

The argument for Williams at this point is on par with ‘Kevin Pietersen is statistically weak against left arm spin, so let’s pick Xavier Doherty for the Ashes’.

If you don’t get that reference, let me assure you: it’s a thin argument.

Re: Raiders fight off rivals to pinch electric sprint champ Xavier Savage from the Roosters

I’m always wary of these signings. Fast does not equal good (see: Joven Clarke, Nathan Gardner, et al). Different build. This guy looks more like a young Inglis as far as frame goes. I'm not going full-negative, don't get me wrong. More just that I'm wary about being overly excited about signing a ...

Someone correct me if I’m wrong - I’m fairly certain the NRL doesn’t allow precedent as a defence. It’s come up before. Anyway, this is my side for next week - I’m assuming Jack will backup but maybe not Nick or Papa: 1-CNK 2-Simmonson 3-Croker 4-Cotric (Kris) 5-Oldfield 6-Wighton 7-Sezer 8-Papalli ...

If Cotric makes a fist of it for the rest of the season, the heat will be on him. His defence last night was abysmal.

If it was something he was capable of changing, he’d have done it by now.
