Re: Wests Tigers sign Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

Just file this in with the long list of ‘BJ being a **** idiot’.

He constantly needed rockets when he was here to keep the fat off. His arrogance could be useful on the field, but this was simply not needed on his way out the door.

Out of the race? We were never in it to begin with.

It was just people on reddit making stuff up and journos speculating wildly.

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

I think people are reading far too much into the fact he wasn’t with the rest of the team when it happened. I saw three groups of friends on Australia Day - I didn’t have a falling out with any of them, I was just always seeing different groups of friends. Scott has known the team for what, a month...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

I don't know if it's as simple as saying 'just sack him'. He's signed a four year deal worth quite a bit of money. What if he lawyers up and sues the club and points to the fact we didn't cut Wighton loose when he went on his rampage twelve months ago? That'd be a great thing to have hanging over ou...

If he’s sacked by the club does that mean we can use that money this season? If yes.. can we make a play at Dane Gagai to replace Scott?
Are we the Queensland state of origin team? If not, I don’t know why we’d want Gagai as that’s the only side he steps up for.

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

I really enjoyed being a good team last year. I really, really enjoyed going to the grand final. And I want to experience winning one. Scott is one of our two best centres with Croker. There is a huge quality gap between those two and our number three choice. The fact is, he’s not my friend. I don’t...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

There’s no way we will cut him. We did the ‘right thing’ for years with Carney, Dugan, etc and it always came back to bite us on the backside when the NRL let them sign with another club immediately. We showed last summer with Fighton’ Wighton that we aren’t taking the moral high ground any more fo...

Wests have pulled their offer to Mitchell, now throwing it at Addo-Carr.

I wonder then;

Addo-Carr -> Wests
Scott -> Canberra
Mitchell -> Melbourne?

So, to be clear, Gallen can box in the off season for money, Cam Smith’s wife can have a $20k diamond ring given to her by the NRL outside the salary cap and Val Homes can throw in the towel with the NFL and join the Cowboys whenever he feels like it but an ageing clubman like Rapana can’t do this. ...

Must say i've never got people's fascination with us getting FTA games. Who cares. Their coverage is diabolical anyway.
Whilst I agree and I watch Fox anyway, it's important for sponsors, and for people - particularly kids who can't just walk down to the pub - who don't have Fox or Kayo.

That’s the 4th year in a row we don’t play a game in Newcastle. Incredibly frustrating for me being the only ground within 3 hrs from the North Coast.
I'm 20mins from that ground.

It's super frustrating.

Oldy would be a starter at most clubs. I would not be too upset with that outside four.

If we get Lomax, it’ll also mean there is genuine competition for spots in the three quarter line.

Re: Canberra Raiders preparing to start extending grand final heroes

I guess my biggest concern about this, is it would mean that Rapana doesn't get an off-season at all. If he's getting paid big money for a stint in the Top League, the corporate overlords paying his salary aren't going to let him half-arse it. Especially given that rugby is at the absolute highest i...

The only clubs that will offer him more than that are the Titans/Bulldogs/Knights.

And if he breaks up the spine that we’ve built to get to a grand final to go to a bottom four side for a few pieces of silver after everything this club for him, that is the ultimate dick move.
