Re: Horse Racing

Yeah, I think the Everest is a better quality race than the Caulfield Cup. It's really starting to draw more attention. Combine that with the Caulfield Cup being diminished as a guide to the Melbourne Cup there's no great surprise. Pierata a huge chance. Sanata Ana Lane hardes to beat. Think those 2...

My submission for the "I got it wrong" list. Luke Bateman. He was a stand out in the juniors. Didn't measure up at senior level. Hit his physical peak too early maybe.
Ata Hingano - Ricky and I both thought he had potential to be a great winger....

Re: Canberra Raiders prepared to let grand final centre Joey Leilua walk

That's why with Bateman we should be looking at TPAs to top up the current deal. Secures him for the remainder of his contract at the lower cap figure. His new manager gets his cut as they generally claim a higher % of TPA money.

Win win :)

Spring carnival getting to the pointy end. Caulfield Cup on Saturday is as open as any I've seen. The more analysis I do the harder it gets. Thinkings about getting one of the kids to pick one by name or pretty colours.

Cotric to the centers if Joey goes I reckon Sent from my iPhone using The Greenhouse mobile app powered by Tapatalk Right now that's the obvious one with Simonssen to the wing and Oldy next on the depth chart for all spots. If we picked up Lomax then spots will be decided in pre-season and early ro...

Being off season I'd love to see Matt's Matchups GH Members Edition. Something along the lines of The Clique vs Everybody Else. That would be great! Um.... who's ACTUALLY in the clique these days? Exhibition Park is a rubbish idea. Better off just knocking down the existing stadium and building a new one in that case Yep. There's very little advantage in shifting from one suburban venue only to create another. If its not going to be around Civic may as well redevelop where it currently is. A...

The Raiders are looking to evolve and improve and manage the cap. This is very Rooster like. I think it’s potentially promising. Bring in a cheaper back, shift dollars to your halfback and keeping your star back rower and five eighth on board. After 2016 the club said... all we have to do is keep t...

Still, i really doubt that Hall and Morris combined would be on more than Fergo. This was not a case of the Sombrero at play

They let Fergo walk and replaced him with a pair of internationals in Morris and Hall. They manage the sombrero as well as any club. ;) Come on now. Morris is 33 years old, he basically went there on the cheap to try and win a premiership. He had some good games for them and wound back the clock a ...

Re: Canberra Raiders prepared to let grand final centre Joey Leilua walk

Roosters may let Latrell walk, but that’s because he doesn’t pull his weight. He’s very very lazy, complete opposite of Joey. Robinson doesnt shy away from taking on those sorts of attitude issues. They'd sign Latrell long term if they could do it for 700k a year. If they lose him it will be becaus...

All well and good to shift money out of your front row, but who’s going to pull the weight instead? Well BJ has been doing exactly that. Our halves don’t have a platform to play upon, without go-forward. Not only is he our best centre, he’s our 2nd best at taking runs (behind only Papalii). He shou...

That might be the best deal we get. Nobody can doubt his ability. Big question marks about his discipline still and coming off a serious neck inury I'd say his market value is sligthly diminished. On hypothetical numbers - BJ to Dogs sees us carry $100k dead money. Pick up a replacement (e.g. Lomax...

BJ to Dogs for $500k is the news this morning. That... seems like we’re still playing freight. I’m not a big fan of that AT ALL Assuming the quoted numbers are accurate then its a case of carrying $100k in dead money or his full $600k contract in 2020. It is clear from the press release that compensation for lower gate takings was the key. I'd be prepared to bet that the NRL gave little or no consideration to the number of their own members who'd be excluded from attending. They would only have used that as leverage in the negotiations. It was ne...

Classic NRL. They don't have a stadium up to standard for the next 2 years but still refuse to take the GF to another city. Top class facilities available in Brisbane and Melbourne but they just can't let go of the Sydney centric mindset.
