Re: Wests Tigers consider signing Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

Again it highlights the problem with contracts being negotiated 18 months out. Players keep signing for the following year at a rival club and an early release is becoming the norm.

Re: POLL: Strongest 2020 line up: Centres

They've got to stop chasing players based on their names. Proctor has been OK, but highly over priced coming out of that Storm system, while deals for the likes of Taylor, Hayne and Boyd have been horrific. ...add Peachey and Cartwright to that list. Big contracts for players that have been a negat...

Re: Toughest preseason ever 2020

So it was back in the days of Stuart, Daley, Clyde etc when we had back to back good seasons.

The Elliott years were reasonably consistent but I wouldn't regard scraping into the 8 and going out in straight sets as a 'good' year. Particularly given we were coming off a top 4 spot previously.

Yep, solid win. Hard to comment much on our middle order though! British or India rank second?
Drop Labu, drop Smith..

Don't need em.
Reckon we go with 8 bowlers. Carey can bat no3 on the off chance Finch or Warner get run out.

There is zero chance he goes to the titans. They wouldn't even up their offer for arrow. They're not going to be offering a number that would have BJ happy to be collecting a spoon. They have too much money tied up with Taylor, James, Boyd, Proctor, Peachey, Cartwright and many more under achievers.

I did see on another forum that the TV first down line was not in the right spot. Sent from my SM-G570F using Tapatalk This is true. Just for clarification. Down by contact is when a runner is contacted by an opponent and touches the ground with any part of his body other than his hands or feet. That therefore includes the helmet.

The way it reads a player could run over the boundary, jump in the air and knock the ball back in to prevent a Six. Doesn't sound right at all. Thats exactly the rule, and not how anyone believed it to be. Wont be a difficult fix, but a fix is needed. Now it's been 'exposed' you can expect players ...

Only the Tigers reported $950k per season. My feeling is there were issues beyond the actual money at play here.

I was at the game last night and everybody around me was confused. We all though it was six and couldn't work out how the ump came to the Out decision. The way I read it he will get $720k for 2020 ($600k Souths, $120k Roosters) and $800k for 2021. I don't see how he sacrificing much money given the Roosters initial offer was $800k.
