I still think the Raiders could win this match, i'm not expecting a blow out. Just worried we don't have enough points in us to get the job done. It will be a super close competition this year.

Re: 2024 Rd 1 v Knights: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

Schiller at Centre would have been better for me as Hoppa isn't playing there in the future, might as well give him time there (pretty sure it would have been opposite Gagai not Best which is a consideration). Strange was a good move but he had to pick either him or Weekes regardless. I think he wa...

Re: 2024 Rd 1 v Knights: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

I don't have a huge issue with the team selections overall. I think the thing that gets me more concerned is the coach has no innovation in him so before a ball is kicked you can see that he'll always revert back to plugging holes in the most conservative fashion hoping to grind out a result. I get ...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

Not me Josh, don’t even know that story. As I said in my first post I gave up my membership to vote with me feet in the most futile exercise in history. I just watch the game at home each week. Question I am not on here much these days but wanted to see what the sentiment was on the direction of the...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

Dubby the coach hasn’t fixed that either. On Sunday he said Jack’s best position is centre which we all knew all along but said he had to do it for the team. Fair play I get that that but did Matt Frawley magically become the solution in the past month after 3 years? None of it makes sense and he’s ...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

Our spine is terrible and has been since hodgson's peak. We do pretty well considering. People complain about our structure, but our 34 year old fullback set up enough tries within our structure in the last 4-5 games. You need at least one player who can spot an overlap, or a defensive player out o...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

Read what you want mate, not fussed. They’re more likely to win a comp before us because they go backwards to go forwards and I stand by that. We perpetually spin the wheels to be ‘competitive’ in most games without ever being the pinnacle. That’s how they protect their jobs by sucking in people hap...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

A clear example of how off the pace Ricky is was the modernisation of the lock position being an additional ball player to shift the ball and he still pretty much uses the position as another prop. He doesn’t adapt at all. The 5 hit ups / crash balls and a bomb style is impossible to believe in 202...

Re: Is Ricky Stuart the person to lead us to another premiership?

Resounding no. I had a season ticket from 1993 until 2021 but haven’t been to a game in years because this club and coach are the biggest joke in the game. No one is getting sacked there ever and as I say to my mate who is a Wests Tigers fan “you guys may be a basket case but at least someone can be...

Re: Elliott Whitehead

Will he get picked for England in the World Cup because technically he's still an NRL player? I don't follow the ESL or England team closely enough to know but it will be a real issue for the home team if they pick on reputation as they seem to have a competitive team to have a good crack at that to...

Re: 2022 Rd 23 V Knights: Game Day

Even though the coach is an interesting tactician to say the least, I'll give him the BOTD here and assume Woolford wasn't right. He looks like a player limping towards the end of the season and for a debutant defending in the middle he's done pretty well to have played as much as he has done. Hopef...

It’s deeply concerning that a 20 year first grade coach only comes up with new attacking strategies and ideas while watching the game from his couch like a bum, and couldn’t come up with any attacking improvements when reviewing thousands of games and running training and review sessions week to we...

Re: Ricky Stuart banned for seven days and fined $25,000 for press conference comments

There are some cases in which it seems the fans have had their voices heard. A few examples: 1. This time last year, fans wanted Mick Crawley to return as an attacking coach. Done. 2. During the off-season, fans wanted Elliott Whitehead to switch to lock. Done and failed. 3. This season, fans wante...

How does the club perceive this site? I can't imagine they like it very much. Certainly in dealings between this forum and the club (granted many years ago now, i haven't been involved in running the site for years, so i cant speak for how it is now) it was clear they weren't big fans. That’ll learn him and his family, how dare he stand up for them, how dare he stand up for his autistic daughter. Of all of this little kerfuffle, the idea that this is somehow related to Stuart's daughter is the part that gets me. For most people, it's the only thing they know about his private lif...

Re: Club leadership

The entire issue directly correlates to our endless gripes about how the club is run. The coach is so comfortable in his place within the club and the broader NRL bubble he just says and does what he wants without fear of consequence. The club will pay any fine for him and it isn't like his job is u...

I'm in the acceptance phase. We were always going to extend him. It's his job as long as he wants it. He's got his blind spots and weaknesses but meh, I do agree with the posos that that's worse out there, and probably not much better Our squad is sitting about where it should be on the ladder, giv...

I haven't posted for about 3 years, this is the opportune time. I've never lost heart in the football club to be honest, I think it is hard to let go when it means a lot to you. However I feel that the club is that unprofessional I want to detach somewhat just to have separation which helps with the...

I don’t know if people are arguing that though. We know why they do the draw and scheduling the way they do it. Fans of some clubs are going to be more aggrieved than others with things like that as it assists some clubs to have a higher profile which permeates throughout the code.

Re: Canberra Raiders 2020 NRL draw

The main reason why we are considered to have a ‘soft’ draw is because of the commercial interests. We make the GF and are still lumped in with the clubs considered least commercially viable or popular, and I don’t think that is an ‘up yours’ to the Raiders, it’s simply a game trying to maximise big...

I agree that Jack has all the leverage here, the club doesn't have a good history of attracting top NRL talent and he's really turned into a major piece of our puzzle this season and he has the chance to go after the big bucks. The timing is perfect for him. The club won't be losing Jack or Bateman,...

I don't want to carry on with this all off season, it's a week on and already feels like it has been done to death. I'm backing him. If he really uses this as motivation and can withstand the sledging, I think he can be a Michael Crocker style 2nd rower. I believe strongly in human improvement and chances. This is not limited to Raiders either. Give him a go, he's stuffed things up badly but that doesn't mean his...
