Re: Canberra Raiders 2020 NRL draw
I don’t know if people are arguing that though. We know why they do the draw and scheduling the way they do it. Fans of some clubs are going to be more aggrieved than others with things like that as it assists some clubs to have a higher profile which permeates throughout the code.

Re: Canberra Raiders 2020 NRL draw
I’ll spare the GH another argument over this Pigman. Recognising the parity issue with the scheduling is good enough for today.

No we haven’t. We haven’t at all. Your entire thing I quoted speaks to what I’ve been trying to say which has been consistently referred to as a conspiracy theory.
You’ve got some sidestep for a former hooker sometimes!

Re: Canberra Raiders 2020 NRL draw
The main reason why we are considered to have a ‘soft’ draw is because of the commercial interests. We make the GF and are still lumped in with the clubs considered least commercially viable or popular, and I don’t think that is an ‘up yours’ to the Raiders, it’s simply a game trying to maximise big...

Re: Canberra Raiders 2020 NRL draw
Haha people ARE still complaining about our increased FTA exposure! Scenes!! Increase yes but it's easy to increase when you've had bugger all prior to that. Statistically you can't paint it either way. 50% more than last year is the positive spin. Grand Finalists being one of the worst represented...

Re: Jack Wighton turns down Raiders option to go on open market for 2021
I agree that Jack has all the leverage here, the club doesn't have a good history of attracting top NRL talent and he's really turned into a major piece of our puzzle this season and he has the chance to go after the big bucks. The timing is perfect for him. The club won't be losing Jack or Bateman,...

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
I don't want to carry on with this all off season, it's a week on and already feels like it has been done to death. My only displeasure is the NRL and Annesley tried to pretend it wasn't an error, they should've just admitted fault straight up and moved on. By trying to talk their way out of it, the...

Re: Hudson Young suspended for eight weeks
I'm backing him. If he really uses this as motivation and can withstand the sledging, I think he can be a Michael Crocker style 2nd rower. I believe strongly in human improvement and chances. This is not limited to Raiders either. Give him a go, he's stuffed things up badly but that doesn't mean his...

I was in the Brewery at about 12:30 with Leebola and Hrundi and John McIntyre came up and asked for a photo of me in my McFadden jersey. My thoughts on that man are not glowing and I curse my late Mother for teaching me to be polite to everyone. I took that photo and simply said "not many of these ...

I already said that. And as I also already said I probably agree with about 90% of the footy opinions that you throw up so i'd prefer not spend what promises to be a good footy season having a bitter back and forth on the 10%. I did really enjoy this footy season and not completely because we were w...

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day
As I said before you can say it is nonsense, but maybe one day you'll step back and at least give some consideration to the fact that we're watching a sport with some pretty strong biases on and off the field. It's always been a political game in that sense, and I don't think it will be changing any...

Re: Canberra Raiders' Aidan Sezer again linked to Huddersfield Giants
Boy, if Williams goes onto $180k then Sezer was the most overpaid halfback in Rugby League history. Who cares what Sezer was on. He is done at our club everyone including himself knows it. The only concern the Raiders should have at the moment is how do we move 100% of his salary on. Again after ma...

I don't for a second think the officials were out to get us, or there is any conspiracy or anything. They reffed the game in front of them. I've spent a few days off the grid as much as possible to recover, I think i'm almost recovering enough to join regular society. I know we played well, but I just can't be watching the replay to dissect it. I just can't. I've said for a long time that for the Raiders to win the comp, we probably had...

Their bench has been outstanding, I truly think we need to ensure we match them by shuffling our pack. I have mentioned it previously but I really hope we line up as below come kick off against the Roosters. 1. Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Cotric 3. Croker 4. Leilua 5. Rapana 6. Wighton 7. Sezer 8. Papalii 9...

Just on this, I hope to see something historic on Sunday. To see the club back at the top after so many lean years will mean more to me than i'm prepared to admit. Mostly this week I've been able to suppress most of my emotions and enjoy the week for what it is, but I would add that in a thread like...

I wouldn't be suprised to see two multi positional players (e.g. a guy who can play centre and edge forward well, or a guy who plays both hooker and halves) start to be used on the bench by teams from next year onwards if they have them, given the increasing impact the HIA rules have had. Agree. Th...
