Re: Canberra Raiders to play Canterbury Bulldogs in Bega trial match

I never agree with councils and other governments throwing money at professional sporting organisations. These are large commercial ventures. Councils etc surely have better things to do with taxpayers' dollars than support a mickey mouse trial match

Re: Sack Ricky

I heard Blake on TripleM this Sunday, and he admitted that the last 2 weeks performances were heavily down to having no pressure on them due to our season being over. He said the pressure of fighting for the finals gets to you, and that tightens up your game. We all saw this, but is interesting to ...

That is a direct reaction to being criticised for failing to call blatant forward passes. Now they're trigger happy and calling imaginary ones

I don't understand why the Raiders want to die in a ditch over 6 weeks vs 10 weeks. In both cases, its effectively the rest of the season, which by the way, the Raiders have zero chance of making the finals in. So its pretty academic as far as I see whether he can play a couple of games at the end o...

I think the NRL over complicates things. Really it should be simple. Direct, forceful contact to the head = send off, always. Anyone saying that calls to sack Pay were stupid are talking absolute tripe IMO. Yeah we totally ballsed up the kickoff after Austin kicked the field goal. Didn't stack the 40 metre line at all and just set up like it was a normal kick off. The only thing that got me about the refs in this game was in the first half when we got pinged for holding down in the tackle, when in the set prior they were clearly holding our players down for twice the amount of time. When does Dean Pay start getting some scrutiny? Absolutely. Our defence is still our glaring weakness. In the BJ situation it is the rule that is the problem not the application. It highlights how stupid it is when you can be hit flush in the face with a fist or forearm in a tackle and then react and end up in the bin. If BJ had clearly used an open hand he would have stayed on the field. As soon as...

2 things that really bothered me. One was the try NZ scored when Wighton was waiting for the ball to go dead. I put a lot of blame on Lee for this. He basically stood back and watched it happen.
