Re: Wests Tigers sign Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

Him leaving for the upcoming season was always on the cards, regardless of the statements both he and the club made. As soon as Mitchell fell through for the Tigers, it felt inevitable. He'll be a massive loss for us and should be a brilliant acquisition for the Tigers. Even though he hasn't gained ...

I thought he came up with some fantastic tough carries in the GF.
I think he always makes fantastic tough carries, just when we seem to need it most. I've seen him countless times push teammates out of the way to make them too.

Re: Wests Tigers consider signing Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

I think this is a great move by the club and I doubt we see BJ playing anywhere near the level he played at the Raiders again. Low football IQ and fitness issues means you rely heavily on 'Hail Mary plays' which is where BJ excelled. The biggest single factor for us this year is whether G.Williams ...

Eh, think he should just try and focus on nailing down a wing spot for the foreseeable future. Looked a bit at sea when he filled in at the back IMO.

Re: What's your strongest possible Canberra Raiders 2020 line up?

I don't see how you can get away with not having a cover for the five backs on the bench with the current concussion rules. All it takes is one small knock and your entire game takes a hit accomodating a second rower in your backline. Same goes for hooker/halves (more so hooker, given the greater ph...

Baptiste easily IMO. Provided a real danger to the opposition every time he came on and gave us something different. Loads of speed and could put on a real hit for a tiny guy.

I'm not sure we'll see George kick long much - that's seems to be reserved for Hodgson and especially Wighton, given the size of his boot. His short kicking game does seem to be a real strength, but he'll need to adapt to the faster defensive lines and getting closed down quickly. That's the differe...

I'm not too concerned about what he's going to do in the weekly grind of the NRL season. If we don't make it to the pointy end of the season next year it won't be because of George Williams. Even despite the year he's had, which was brilliant, how can Papalii possibly be in the top two props this decade given he's only been there for the one season? The votes on these polls are all over the shop and become highly subjected to recency bias it seems.

Papalii has been our best second rower in the 2010s and it isn't even close. The best team of the decade shouldn't have him in a position where he's done so little of his work.

Raps and Cotric head and shoulders above the rest of the pack, with Ed leading the trailing pack. Shame he's now mostly remembered for his last game with us despite being a very decent winger here in general and constantly on the cusp of rep selection. We still haven't replaced his speed.

Skill wise it's BJ and Ferguson, even though they're two right centres. BJ in form is genuinely one of the best centres in the game, and there was a time Sticky Fingers could lay those claims when he was with us - he was destroying teams at will. That being said, Fingers is in the Dugan pile, Wighto...

The more I think about it, the more I think a fresh BJ coming off the bench could be devasting in the middle of the field, with his carries against tired forwards. Campese managed to have two purple patches in his entire career and that was it - second half of 2008 and 2010. Outside of that, he was an ordinary footballer.
