Re: Raiders offer Fogarty new deal to fend off Sea Eagles’ raid
Great decision to not take up the 1 year extension… Far out that was short sighted This ignores the human factor. NRL requires you to leave nothing on the tank to win. You don’t get that level of play and commitment from the guy you chain to your team for a year when he could be out there fielding ...

Re: 2025 Round 3 v Sea Eagles: Teams and Previews
Smithies has stopped trying to find his front so early in the contact, and is using his footwork and leg drive to push through the contact. Classic over-coached style last year, that we've seemed to get out of him.

Re: Raiders signing speculation 2025
Im going to be so happy when the round 1 team is announced and Strange is at 5/8th so we can put this behind us We've been struggling to have quality halves at this club for a looong time, we finally find one, he's 19 years old, who won us football games as a half and people want to move him. Re: Raiders withdraw interest in signing Danny Walker
Woke up to some pretty massive news about Danny Walker this morning. Some others talking about a ceasefire in some place called Gaza, but clearly the big news is Danny Walker not coming to the Raiders. Big risk to spend close to half a Mil, to release a player from a contract when players agitate fo...

Re: POLL: Strongest 2025 line up: Five eighth
Best attacking structure for this team is to have Fogarty playing first receiver and weekes a sweeping ball player and runner (as fullback). The more this happens the better. Weekes has good instincts for run/pass/kick, so more times he gets the ball with defence under pressure and sliding the bette...

Can someone confirm; Owen Pattie is development player so needs to be upgraded to top 30 to play NRL? Do we have 1 more top 30 spot currently? Personally I think he should play more than half the year either off the bench and/or starting in a handful of games. Starling should be the lead player for...

Re: Raiders miss out on Leo Thompson
I didn’t get why we were going after him myself. He seems to be a first grader but I never really noticed him until he was “on the market”. The only thing I liked about it was it made our middle rotation very strong. But at what cost. The talk was Papa retires end ‘25, but I don’t think he needs to,...

Re: Raiders' interest in Roosters hooker Brandon Smith revealed
I would sign Brandon Smith, and I would do it without concern. Bloke is a very good hooker, and can play Prop and Lock at a very high level should we have someone like Owen Pattie hit in the next 12 months. Smith would be one of the best 14's in the comp. Off field stuff is negligible, and contrary ...

Re: 2024 Prime Minister’s XIII Papua New Guinea v Australia: Teams and Game Day
It was a wasted pre season for Weekes at 7. We had to do it with the dire straights we had in that position in our top 30, but he was never a halfback. I thought he was a fullback after the first trial. He showed he has a big heart and tenacity to go with some real talent, and improved in few ways b...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
If we are negotiating a release you would think we have some kind of agreement with Danny. Conditional contract pending payout. That would be pretty normal in the business world. Otherwise why waste your time, and as other said, you could be negotiating a release fee for another club to swoop in. Th...

Anyone who thinks Cobbo is just a good winger has rocks in their head.
Blokes been a fullback forever. Go watch his 10 games of QLD cup at full back in 2021 when he was 18/19. One of the most talented players under 25 in the NRL.
He needs a new coach.

I'd be having a real good crack at Cobbo. He's worth a Mil at fullback.
Complete gamebreaker - would be an unreal weapon, and is about to hit his prime if someone can nurture him properly.

Big win for Ricky Stuart.
There's not many coaches in the league that could have pulled off such a ballsy pulic smackdown of an Origin player and won the battle.

If he leaves I’ll be devastated. One of my favourites and I believe he has a massive ceiling. Thought that from very early on. If he stays it’s a massive win for Ricky Stuart. Very public slapdown of a good player for not living up to standards, and ‘playing chicken’ for him to buy in and concede to...

Yes to Wishart for the record. I posted a photo somewhere in here a week ago with his old man in a raiders scarf. Caught up with the Gerringong legend a few years ago. He played some decent footy as well back in his day.

I genuinely think you blokes just think coaching is getting the best 13 players and throwing them on the field and the rest will just sort it out I’m sure our coach shares the same opinion Its a large part of it. Wayne Bennett and Trent Robinson share that sentiment. No, they don’t. They play and c...

Horsburgh is our best middle behind our starting 2, IMO.
Clearly theres some attitude or personality issues behind the scenes, but he is a cracking player and the coaching staff should be doing everything to get him back to his best.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I've seen a fair few of his games last year and this year in reserves and first grade and I stand by my point that he isn't very good under the high ball. He doesn't have a great leap either. Some of this can be mitigated with body position and getting to the right spots at the right time. Drinkwat...

Does Ethan Strange still qualify for NSW under 19's? I believe he does as he was 19 or under as at 31 December last year. But as I recall, they only select two players in the team who have played NRL. Chevy Stewart would be one of them. No. He was the right age last year. Chevy was a year young, so...

I think Weekes is going OK in the circumstances, but he's not a halfback and has significant holes in his game. I'm not as high on him as everyone seems to be. His kicking game is patchy. You can see he has some talent there but it's not up to scratch as yet - which is why i say under the circumstan...

I’m on board with the Robinson bashing. He’s a pretender with the best roster in the comp by far his entire career. Anyone associated with the Roosters are cheats and over rated. I’m very impressed and I have high hopes for his career. Biggest thing for me is his defence, and his willingness to go after the game. He’s made sure the ball is in his hands when the game is on the line a few times already. And he executes well with that pressure. Running game and passing game can...

Could build a career at fullback. I thought in pre-season he was a fullback. But as I’ve watched he’s probably more of a fullback right now.
