Not sure how pleased Ata would have been with his season.
He was well below average for middle forwards IMO, plenty of room for improvement next season. Just seemed to lack impact in limited minutes. Needs to play with a bit more mongrel.

Re: Canberra Raiders ranked 10th as strongest NRL brand
Sounds like a bunch of marketing hocus pocus. [emoji23] But there you go. No real surprises there. The Storm rankings are probably the most interesting, for a club that has been near the top of the tree for a couple of decades.

What a career. Not too many players hang up the boots knowing they were arguably the best in the world in two positions at one stage during their career. At 32 I reckon he's got two seasons left in him coming off the bench. Still mobile enough in the middle to be an elite defender, just doesn't have...

The kid was a gun centre in the juniors. Might be a bit courageous to write the idea off after two random rookie games in the position. The kid clearly has all the fundamental skills, size and speed to do the job.

Yeah, he might suit a contender that can afford to pick up someone with experience for depth, but he's way past being a key position player that you can build your attack around.Canberra Milk wrote:He's just too slow, everyone runs around him

He goes alright does Joe.
Interesting stat in his defensive try causes compared to last year, that looked to be a definite improvement this season...and demonstrates 2023 was an aberration.
Hopefully he's got two or three of these level seasons left in him.

For the NSW Cup player of the year he really struggled to impact the game during the finals series. That's a concern. Good player to have in your squad, but even more than Hopoate, we'll be struggling if he needs to play for than a couple of games of NRL next season. I'd have Fogarty, Strange, Sand...

I'd be quite happy with a guy like Nikora on the books. He and Thompson would be good targets for 2026.
Gutho on the other hand. He'd be a step back from re-signing Rapana.

Re: 2024 in review - Ethan Strange
Whether or not playing Strange in the centres is a good strategy, the fact is Stuart is almost certainly not going to ditch Fogarty as an elite kicker (and by far his most experienced leader in the spine) for a rookie. He's also going to want to give Sanders a shot to get some experience as our futu...

Always felt like he was on the verge of doing something special in a game. For mine he's our fullback unless Stewart proves he's the better option. Tough year for Kris. He could be one of the most damaging ball runners in his position. Will be interesting to see how he goes next season. I'm not sure if this was a strategic decision or not, but for whatever reason Hughes barely saw the ball last night and Munster dominated the Storm's attack.
