Re: 2024 Round 15 v Cowboys: Game Day

I'm not just saying it because we were on the wrong end, but **** I hope they bring back bigger punishments for deliberate repeated infringements. It's just not pleasant to watch and shows how weak 6 again is without it The 6 again rule is a disaster. It adds another layer of complexity to rules wh...

Plenty of work ahead to improve our defence.

That's how you build a competitive team.

Re: 2024 Round 15 v Cowboys: Game Day

Making it worse is that this Cowboys team is as dead set pedestrian as it gets.

Honestly, most teams would have flogged these jokers by 20. Their attack has nothing and they are equally I'll disciplined in the ruck.

Re: 2024 Round 15 v Cowboys: Game Day

I can cop the lame attack with the spine we have. You've got to expect some clueless games with no experience in the halves. However the defence tonight was appalling. There's no excuse for that. Whitehead, Taps, Smithies and Rapa should be ashamed. And that opening effort from Guler. C'mon mate. Se...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

I really wanted us to sign Brandon Smith when he was last off contract. Boy was I wrong to consider that. So glad the club didn't take the gamble on him. I honestly can't think of a single NRL player less likely to move to Canberra. So, even if we wanted a player like that at our club (i.e. unfit, ...

Surely Benji of all people knows what it's like to be an 18 year old hotshot Very risky for him leaving the club too. Hors has been a massive disappointment this year. Didn’t take his pre season seriously because of his (unjust) suspension. Came in underdone, gets injured immediately. Now he’s still not right 14 rounds in. Off the back of his best season for us last year and playing origin, I’d hoped he be a littl...

Re: Junior Blues back Savelio Tamale agrees to two year deal to join Raiders

Signing The Big Tamale makes up for losing James Schiller. Hopefully he gets picked in first grade more often than Schiller did. And in the centres, not on a wing. I've been pretty vocal about Schiller's shortcomings. I'm quietly hopeful Tamale is the real deal. He's a different kettle of fish, but...

I'm not sure Ricky Stuart is a coach that will push to convert a halfback to a hooker. Didn't he try it with Sezer, or was that a dream? I think we tried it with McCrone. Maybe Nickman can confirm? I think there’s a sensible middle between our two positions here as well. I don’t think anyone believes Woolford is being kept out of first grade for his own good/development. Ricky’s personality and past behaviour also suggests he holds grudges and it appears hard (though not impossible) to move f...

Fair enough. I agree Savage was 'good enough' to play first grade the last two seasons. He had a few cracks at it, and I think his judgement improved through those games. He may have played more games at another club. Who knows? This season he has come in as almost the complete package. He is a sign...

In 2024 he's the complete package. I love watching him play. He's a gun. Do you think he’d not be a gun if he’d played first grade in 2023? It's completely irrelevant. I think he's a vastly superior player in 2024 than he was in 2022. In all aspects of the game. In 2023 he had a number of injuries ...

I've been watching this team for 40 odd years now. We could have Raider #400 run out for us by the start of next season. For some reason I can't imagine us playing without Rapana.

He dead set should have scored us a grand final winning try if Leilua had his head screwed on.

Oh well.
