Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

As long as your back 5 are digging the ball out of your own end at the start of each set it doesn't really make any difference whether it's Cotric/Hoppa or Schiller/Savage rucking it out along with Rapana/Kris/Timoko. Someone has to do it either way, just because Hoppa carries the workload when he ...

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1

I'm always a bit sceptical about Schiller's defence, but I'm happy to see him given a crack in this situation. Definitely some decent strike power there in the backline. Hopefully we can dominate through the middle and cash in. Too many errors at critical times last week. We need to take the ref out...

Re: 2024 Rd 4 v Sharks: Teams and Previews

Watched the warriors game again and EW really offers nothing anymore and it's a shame, he's been one of the best club men and players we've had, tough and skill full, but looks a shadow of himself. Needs cup time for fitness, too slow now. Hopoate can never be picked at centre again. Ever. Cotric d...

Frustrating game to watch on the back of failed opportunities. Our attack still has a lot of improvement in it and the fact that we will probably finish the round 3rd/4th in attack is promising. Out attitude is the best thing going for us this year. And confidence within ourselves. We panicked last...

Thought Smithies and Guler were excellent tonight. That penalty not long after the Tapine no try really changed momentum. If Danny Levi is going to continue to be picked in first grade he should only be allowed to pass. Completely killed sets when he tried to run, especially on the line with 13min ...

A few too many errors against a quality and desperate team. Didn't get the rub of the green with quite a few calls too. We could easily have won that, and probably should have. Hopefully we see Kris and maybe Hors back in the mix. Would certainly like to see Mariota in for Guler or Saulo. I struggle...

Apparently Wade Egan is also out Huge boost for us, he’s a really big part of the middle of the field for them Agreed. He's a big loss for them. As well as CNK at the back. I'm confident we'll put in a decent performance here. Ball security will be the key IMO. You can't gift Johnson easy field pos...

I'm impressed by the way Fogarty's kicking game has improved since he arrived. I'm also impressed by Strange's defence in the halves. It will be interesting to see how Weekes comes along. Stuart certainly got career best football out of Wighton when Jacky Boi straightened out his off-field nonsense ...

Congratulations Ricky. I was initially quite sceptical of his appointment. There has been some ups and downs, but on the whole I think he's been good for the club. We all have our opinions on team selections, use of the bench and tactics. Taking a step back, he has been innovative in his recruitment...

Whitehead still needs to be better than serviceable - Hoskinsings is a point of difference for us in attack, a top 2 tackler (only behind smiths chips), and averaged about 110 running metres. Only a small sample size but Smell hasn’t averaged 100 meters since pre covid. He needs to be very good to ...

Re: 2024 Rd 3 v Warriors: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

Last season I reckon Whitehead had about 50 minutes a game of serviceable football in him. That's my bet for this game if he starts. I can't see him being useful off the bench.

I also think Stuart sees value in Hosking covering an injury to the centres off the bench.

Just win baby! Bit of pressure on EW to perform, particularly in defence. He's definitely a weak link lining up next to Fogarty if he starts dropping off tackles like last season. Psychologically I don't mind having Whitehead start against the Wahs and bringing Hosking'son on later. The risk is play...

It's nice to start a season where the major issues are player name spelling errors, coaching selections that haven't even happened and whether Saulo is a better 5th prop option than Guler. This game will obviously be a big test for our boys. The Warriors will be desperate for a win, especially at ho...
