Re: Raiders recruit Newcastle Knights Jersey Flegg captain Myles Martin
He's a big unit, but seems to be quite mobile from the little I've seen. Really good signing by the looks. Credit to our recruitment team with this one. Could possibly play an edge in first grade. Will be interesting to see how he progresses. Either way, I love the way we've specifically targeted a ...

Ex Raiders... where are they now?
Once the NRL integrity unit finish with the Roosters they should go visit the Tigers recruitment and retention committee. The signing of Bateman on a ridiculous 4 year deal epitomises everything wrong with that club. By the end of 2020 he was a shell of a player he was at the start of 2019. Sent fro...

Perfect player to bring in off the bench. I reckon 2025 will do him.
Can wrap up his career with back to back premierships.

6th vs 7th.
The battle of a bottom 4 quality squad vs a top 4 quality squad led by a three time premiership winning coach.
I'm surprised the teams are so close on the ladder.
Roosters suck. Raiders by 10.

Re: Weekes
It's hard to ignore the development in the kicking games of our halves. The progress Jamma has shown in the last couple of seasons indicates the quality of coaching the Raiders have to offer. I thought Andrew Bishop did a wonderful job with Wighton in 2019 and 2020 when Jack was focussed on football...

We've got an outstanding young 7 coming in next season and another great fullback coming through (despite the criticism). To that extent Weekes provides a very good option for both positions should either Stewart or Sanders take their time to step up.

Re: Raiders sign Kaeo Weekes on two year deal
Strange legitimately beat Weekes to the 5/8 position in the trials. Until then I'm sure Stuart had Weekes pencilled in. That says a lot about Strange, he was outstanding in the preseason. But Weekes offers a lot of that X factor. Unlike Starling, he could legitimately cause damage off the bench. We ...

360 has got even worse this year. It used to at least discuss broader issues across the teams and across the game. Now it’s just talking about whatever is happening with the big teams and whatever is in today’s and tomorrow’s newspapers. The worst bit is they now discuss for example, a south Sydney...

Any thoughts on Brandon smith coming to Canberra as a 50min hooker rotation? The Raiders have been incredibly vocal about the type of player they approach as a recruiting target. He didn't seem to be able to retool his squad very well after the grand final season. Losing Papalii and Mahoney was a real blow for them.
Noukore was also a big loss, as he has been for the Warriors this year.

Okay, watched Annesleys presser. I take back Cotric playing it up. Definitely didn’t. Personally I can agree that there’s a difference in how the weight drops. But ultimately both are tackles that risked injuries to the player’s legs, and both were through accidental incidents rather than an intent...

That's why I think it's crazy to call it a "text book hip drop". If there's various parts of the definition that did not actually occur, it's not really text book is it? The textbook has been rewritten. The textbook now includes landing on your own player in an equally dangerous attempt t...

I don't understand what's not to understand. The point is fairly simple and plainly stated, Seiff. [emoji38] So you're saying Robinson is a better coach than Stuart because he has won 3 premierships in 10 seasons at the Roosters and Stuart won 1 premiership in 5 seasons. Both got to 3 grand finals ...

Fellas... before you go ahead and start dismissing Robinson's THREE premierships and pretending he's not achieved more than Stuart as a coach because he coaches the roosters, you might want to google which club Stuart ONE premiership as a coach was won at. I don't quite understand. You're saying Ri...

There's no way you can absolutely confirm that Papalii would have landed on his legs if Weekes wasn't there. His entire body was behind the player. That's the whole point. The only reason Papalii didn’t land on Kikau’s legs was because another raiders player got in the way, and the force of Papalii swinging off the ground forced that Canberra player to come down on Kikau’s legs. You guys are arguing this is a perfectly fine and normal tackle on the technicality that ...

Re: The new Laurie Daley
The relationship between a half and their edge is a really interesting and often under-noticed combination on the field in attack. A good half will boss their edge, centre and wing around so that the shape they hold keeps the defensive line spread and provides options for set plays. They will then ...

I like that Stuart has a long-term plan for the team an he is sticking to it, pun intended. I don't think part of that plan is having Savage at fullback. Rapana is that experienced voice at the back. The key for Strange will be how he evolves once opposition coaches pick a chink in his armour. They’ll coach all his usual attacking and defensive moves and decisions into their players and it will get harder for him. But he’s working off a good base and has the core skills to further develop his g...
