Canberra Raiders hero Steve Jackson seals it from the best seat in the house Steve Jackson never thought he'd play. He was just happy to have the best seat in the house. "How good is this," he thought as one of eight Canberra Raiders substitutes on the bench in the 1989 grand final against Balmain....

Re: 200 days

It was the first time since 2001 that we kept an opposition scoreless away from home.

I think there were only two home games when it happened in that time, 56-0 against the Broncos in 2009 and 14-0 against Parramatta 2013.

Not sure when we last kept the opposition scoreless away from home. Looks ...

Quality NRL players are not wigets. You can’t just make more of them. If you get salary cap relief when a player is stood down, another club is losing a player which potentially just inflates the whole market.

Disagree. It puts Townsend in the halves and Wighton back to full back. And we get him with 5 months of the 2019 rugby league year already gone and paid by someone else.

Re: Raiders penalised $150,000 for shifting NRL game to Wagga

If you look at the minutes of the Wagga Council meeting where this was discussed, the agreement is actually for 2019 and 2020 with an option for a third year.

The council minutes record 4 votes for the proposal and 4 against. The Mayor used his casting vote and it was passed.
