Re: 2020 Canberra Raiders juniors

Wow the girls team is going great guns. After being behind the pace the past couple of years to thrash two western Sydney teams in a row is massive.

Re: Have the Canberra Raiders finally overcome their salary cap disadvantage?

I’ve never understood the problem with the Warriors. They have the potential to be a powerhouse but never deliver. The argument I hear is that it’s Union dominant there, but we’ve had a decent go at signing guys who were in Union setups at a younger age. Don’t underestimate the travel every second ...

Re: Have the Canberra Raiders finally overcome their salary cap disadvantage?

Hopefully what we are doing now is setting the club up for when we do drop off, so that we can bounce back quickly not be stuck trying to get out of the cellar again.

Good news, but at the same time it does bring pressure. At that sort of money, the year he had last year has to be the standard or we won’t be successful.

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

I have always thought that Curtis was just doing some visualisation of winning the Grand Final for the Raiders at the SCG. He laid down on the grass next to the ground and was in such a fixated trance visualising running down the wing to score the winning try, that anyone who was to wake him at that...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

Thought I would give my two cents as a lawyer (albeit not criminal) themselves. His solicitor has 100% seen the footage and would undoubtably hold copies of all evidence the police has in their possession. They’re entitled to review the evidence prior to entering a plea. As to whether it is a tacti...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

Does mean this will drag on for some time. I expect however, he won't face any sanctions just yet. This is not what the no-fault stand down policy was brought in for. It was so that a player facing serious criminal charges is not playing and in the case of De Belin potentially playing Origin, Tests ...

Re: Wests Tigers sign Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

I thought we were crazy to let him go. An out of contract Joey was always going to have a big year. I can see why Ricky was frustrated with him because I found him probably our most frustrating player in recent years but the guy could bust games open. We have had Rapana, Cotric and Leilua make most ...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

The really disappointing thing for me is like Wighton or many others he clearly got off his face in the middle of pre season. That in itself is very unprofessional and also leads to situations that can get out of control. Then whenever these guys get into altercations there are going to be issues li...

16/17 seems very young. The NRL are trying to set up systems so country kids stay at home. Seems a bit much to bring kids that young.

The NSWRL and the QRL must have some money to burn for Origin. I think the big risk is preparation. In both the summers of 2015/16 and 2018/19 we had great pre seasons on the back of not making the finals. This preseason is very different.
