Re: The Soccer/Football Thread

I reckon International football is competitive regardless of gender, but the exceptional teams have four or five players who are among the very best in their positions and in peak form. Coaching and the choices they make has a role to play too. I still find it incredible that Warren Ryan took Blocke...

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

Woolford hasn’t shown any more in previous seasons than Levi has this season. Much of a muchness between the two. But Woolf has certainly shown more than Starling has this season. I can't agree BJ. DL was missing just over 3 tackles per match in his 60 minutes game time this season up to last week....

Australia's Olyroos have failed to Qualify for the Paris Olympics. They simply could not find a way to score goals. In coming years it will be telling if the issue has been the players or the coaching. Olympics are largely for U/23 players with only 3 over 23 players allowed in the squad. Australia'...

Manchester United have beaten Coventry in the FA Cup semi final to set up a Final match with Manchester City. In a strange game, Man United went out to a 3 nil lead before Coventry put 3 on Man U to have it 3 all at full time. Man U then won the penalty shoot out 4-2.

Man City have defeated Chelsea 1-0 to go through to the final on May 25. This will be some consolation after both Man City and Arsenal were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League during the week. I wouldn't be complaining about a drawn result GE. It served the game fine for about 100 years. Players are trained to go 80 minutes, but golden point means extra minutes and exposure to injury to exhausted players. Duty of care for players not the priority. It would not bother me if they dropped th...

Benefit of him playing the first 25-30 mins is it gives us one less interchange rather then DL starting and finishing.

I am one of the biggest Fog fans on here but the field goal does not negate the 8 missed tackles and the poor kick which gave the Titans the opportunity to level the game. 7 at best.
