Re: The Soccer/Football Thread
I reckon International football is competitive regardless of gender, but the exceptional teams have four or five players who are among the very best in their positions and in peak form. Coaching and the choices they make has a role to play too. I still find it incredible that Warren Ryan took Block...

Re: The Soccer/Football Thread
Man City is giving Brighton a lesson. In the first half goals to De Bruyne and two to Foden set up a 3 nil lead. De Bruyne and Foden subbed off at the 72 minute mark. Now another goal to Alvarez giving City a 4-0 lead. I don't see Brighton coming back from there. So the final match of the deferred R...

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
Woolford hasn’t shown any more in previous seasons than Levi has this season. Much of a muchness between the two. But Woolf has certainly shown more than Starling has this season. I can't agree BJ. DL was missing just over 3 tackles per match in his 60 minutes game time this season up to last week....

Arsenal have thrashed Chelsea 5-0 this morning to go to the top of the Premier league ladder. This was one of the round 29 catch up matches which affected 12 Premier League teams. The balance of the round 29 matches will be completed by Friday. Arsenal have played more matches than most with a lot o...

Australia's Olyroos have failed to Qualify for the Paris Olympics. They simply could not find a way to score goals. In coming years it will be telling if the issue has been the players or the coaching. Olympics are largely for U/23 players with only 3 over 23 players allowed in the squad. Australia'...

Manchester United have beaten Coventry in the FA Cup semi final to set up a Final match with Manchester City. In a strange game, Man United went out to a 3 nil lead before Coventry put 3 on Man U to have it 3 all at full time. Man U then won the penalty shoot out 4-2.

Man City have defeated Chelsea 1-0 to go through to the final on May 25. This will be some consolation after both Man City and Arsenal were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League during the week. Man City knocked out in a penalty shoot out losing 4-3 to Real Madrid after both Haarling and de Bruyn...

DL and SimiS lead the missed tackles with 5 apiece. Simi scored a try and set up the second Raiders try with a kick. DL dropped the ball at dummy half and from the Broncos next set they scored a try. DL penalised for a strip and from the next set Cobbo scored his try. Late in the game DL passes to n...

Re: Through green eyes 2024
I wouldn't be complaining about a drawn result GE. It served the game fine for about 100 years. Players are trained to go 80 minutes, but golden point means extra minutes and exposure to injury to exhausted players. Duty of care for players not the priority. It would not bother me if they dropped th...

If we needed any reminders about the advantage of pace in the FB position, good kick chase and not racing out of the defensive line we got it tonight. Try 1. Timoko races out of the defensive line and Walsh with a step and sheer pace is into the backfield and goes around Chevy. Try 2. Mam cross fiel...

And props to the Knights, they would have seen him scoring tries for fun in Cup last year, at centre. Good signing for them NSW Cup this year CM, he ran about 80 meters and beat 4 Knights players to the goal line. No Knight could catch him. I was at that match and it was a spectacular effort. I can't see a productive future for the Levi-Starling combination. It's terrible in defence as well as being chaotic in attack. I am one of the biggest Fog fans on here but the field goal does not negate the 8 missed tackles and the poor kick which gave the Titans the opportunity to level the game. 7 at best. DL missed 4 tackles and the Clanger effort for the Titans first try was not FG level. Opposition coaches will see opp...

Manchester City and Real Madrid have played a 3 all draw in the first leg of their EUFA Champions League. Some wonderful goals. The final 3 of the match absolute crackers and once again Foden gets one of them.
