Re: Jack Wighton turns down Raiders option to go on open market for 2021

The Raiders have to make a decision on who they want in the core group of players. They are the ones to keep and get the big bucks. The Storm have been successful in this but the Bronco's and possibly the Cowboys and Manly have not. One injury or series of injuries and the clubs struggle. A player o...

Re: Climate change

Gangers, I am attempting to discuss with you the need to rely on the Empirical evidence on the issue of Climate change. For someone like me, empirical evidence is all important. It is that evidence which should determine actions by business, Government and individuals. I have no doubts the empirical...

Re: 2019 in review - Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad

I think 8 is the right outcome for season 2019 for Charnze. I knew nothing of CNK before he came to the Raiders. My concern during the off season was that we were moving Jack from fullback and the player being groomed for the No.1 in season 2018 was Brad Abbey. Then we recruited a lower grade player...

Tonga deserved to win. No respect for possession by Australia or aggressive driving defence. Munster seems to reserve his worst for big matches. Last night and last year's Grand Final being 2 examples. Mitchell had poor ball security. Jack looked lost at times in defence. I thought Nick went ok but ...

Nice article. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I wonder if when Siro answered, "Respect"- did he mean for occasion of the GF? For his opponents? For the game itself? It's really good of him and Brasher to come down, 30 years on, to a rival fan day to boot and share their time. Hope they were well looked afte...

Them, the Poms beat the Wallabies 40-16. Ouch. Cheika has said he would resign if we didn't win the World Cup. Cya Michael. Wallabies do not have the discipline to play low error Rugby. That comes from the coaching. Hopefully Sticky is learning that 'loose cannons' look good on highlights reels but ...

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day

That try was hardly opportunistic. It was a well worked play created by a half who was playing what was infront of him. Agree to disagree, but the major aspects of game like line speed say otherwise, as does our fullback going off gassed. They played our disorganised line to a treat and it took a p...

Roger, do they still call it a cap if clubs can exceed it?

The Chooks would be in favour of such a system. They could overspend by a couple of million and still make a $2m donation from petty cash.

Excellent Grand Final summary GE. I agree with Coastal Raider and TongueFTW that JC was far better than a 6. The Grand Final was one of the best games he has ever played. Yep, just got mine, too. Not a fan of the cap being navy. It should be bright Raiders green, and then Canberra Stadium would be a sea of green! 100% agree with you on the colour of the cap skater. It should be Lime Green. The Grand Final looked sensational as vast sections of the Stadium were lime ...

There were no injuries. The trainer was on the field from the start and he was on field for both the Roosters' initial sets. I'm not "moving on", myself, given that there were two obvious injustices in the Grand Final, both of which led to the two tries for the Roosters. I don't think the referees ...

BJ's tackle on Cordner was fantastic, 1 on 1 dropped him like a stone but unfortunately you get no reward for a great low tackle and cordner jumps up quick play the ball and the rest is history. Back in the olden days they said you had to lose one to win one. We were pretty good tonight and hopefully with the addition of Williams he can strike up a good combo on that right side. If we can get that 'drive them back' defence going in the second half, we got this. Chooks had a lot of possession and we need to make them pay when they have the ball. Very proud of the Raiders once the nerves settled.
