Re: Canberra Raiders Origin chances

Ferguson did himself no favours tonight. He had a poor match for the Eels at center. There was some talk of Morris coming back to Origin. If Nic Cotric is to be selected then it would benefit him to have an experienced outside back beside him in his first series. With Turbo Tom injured, then Cotric ...

Re: 2019 Rd 11 V Cowboys: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

I reckon if Cotric goes ok against to likes of Cooper, Morgan et al, then he is in the frame for Origin. He has been in the SOO squad and Brad Fittler has said often he has a high opinion of him despite Laurie Daley saying he makes poor defensive reads. Right center is a space to be filled for NSW. ...

:hi Good News PJ.
Raiders are the poster boys in this week's Big League.

Tell Mrs PJ the cover is about the Indigenous Round with the words 'Inspiring Change' and some dot art on it.

Very surprised that Tapine is fit enough to play. Still, always good to get an International back rower back on the park. Playing from the bench so may be eased back into FG. Big body so will add some size to the side.

Re: 2019 Rd 11 V Cowboys: Teams and Previews

Another reason to keep Kris in the 17 is that there is a chance for Nic Cotric to be selected for Origin. We will need another outside back if that happens and Seb Kris will find even cameo appearances in FG of value. Similar to how the young forwards were blooded earlier this year I think it is a p...

Re: 2019 Rd 10 V Rabbitohs: Game Day

We have had a chance to win both of our last two games. The fact some errors have been made in May of this competition, simply gives us something else to work on. The improvement is clear and hopefully will continue. The lessons learned will come in handy August/September/October.

Re: 2019 Rd 10 V Rabbitohs: Game Day

I was very proud of the performance of the Raiders against Souths. Both sides down on players but what a tough, tenacious effort from both teams. The Raiders are now a 'hard to beat' side. I've been waiting years for such a squad to be developed. Things didn't go our way at a couple of crucial times...

Seb Kris is strong defender. I don't know he is there as a wing replacement. More cover for a centre or at a stretch back row.

Re: 2019 Rd 10 V Rabbitohs: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

I don’t even know why it’s getting spoken about. They will name Dugan in the centres like usual. Dugan wasn't there last year. Brad Fittler doesn't mind rolling the dice on new players. That's why Dugan and Ferguson weren't there last year. I think he will go with mostly players from last year. The...

Re: Canberra Raiders looking to re-sign Jordan Rapana

Rapa is one of the best wingers in the world. When he is not there we are a different side and not in a good way in terms of go forward. Very safe under the high ball and will turn and chase break throughs. Unfortunately a try saving tackle caused a rib injury and now he also has a knee injury. I ho...

Re: 2019 Rd 9 V Roosters: Game Day

Tough game. Very proud of the grit in the 2019 Raiders. We needed 50% possession and only had 41% in the first half. That's when the damage was done. The fight back was great to see and showed the guts and pride in the jersey that's in this side. As expected, JB was a real loss to our attacking opti...

Re: Joey Leilua out for the year?

Woodgers I think Sticky will stay with the players who perform in 2019. Oldfield did the job in Wagga so he stays. Huge challenge against the Chooks, but if Sticky stays with 2019 form I think he is on the right track. I have to say our side has been very disciplined this year. On your point for fut...

Re: Joey Leilua out for the year?

I'm glad the Club is getting another opinion. Some doctors have vastly different opinions on treatment. It must be hard to continue in a contact sport, particularly with BJs alpha male playing style. I agree with the side selected in that Oldfield will get first crack at right center. Why shuffle 2...

When we have players carrying injury in our backline I think it makes sense to have a reserve back. Our pack all play long minutes. The 4th forward usually gets little game time. Sure it's a risk but better than trying to have an outpaced forward substituting into the backs imo.

Simonsson being on the bench is weird too. You'd have to assume that won't be the starting 17.
CNK didn't look 100% on the weekend and Rapa is back possibly a little early from the rib injury. Some insurance in picking Simonsson.

We are currently No.4 in attack and No.1 in defence and are running 3rd in the comp. We play the two sides above us in the next 2 rounds. Re: Is Jack Wighton finally ready for NSW Blues call up?

I don't think Jack will be selected. Too many errors for SOO. I would go with Cleary and Keary in the halves. Keary is in such good form - and was the best in last years Grand Final - so I think he should be picked. Cleary provides another good tactical kicking option because hooker Cook does not ha...

Thanks for the stats GE. I think Hudson Young has looked good in FG from the moment he was selected. He is a rookie going up against the Premiers but he looks at home with the challenges so far. I think the Wagga game will do more for the club than the Magic round, which I think is a total waste of time. Young looked very good on the left in attack against the Panthers. I haven't seen his defensive stats but he didn't look a weakness in any way as judged by this bloke standing on the hill in Wagga. Some reckoned Sam would be 'terrorized' against the Panthers. It didn't look that way to me. Bigger test this week against the in form Lattrell and Cordner.
