Re: Ethan Strange re-signs with Raiders to end 2028
Great re-signing. Well done, Don Junior. He's Jack Wighton without the mistakes. I think better. Wighton great close to the line, but Strange good from anywhere I expect his passing to surpass Jack's too (a low bar to be fair). I liked Jack's long kicking despite the occasional howler, he had a hug...

Re: Newcastle Knights sign Canberra Raiders back James Schiller
I’ll also put this out there, if Schiller had no defensive issues, then keep him for the rest of the season on the right wing - don’t care if he leaving at seasons end if he is the best option. But, with this information, I would have Hopa ahead of him next week. Let's face it, Hoppa was probably g...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
There is a lot of talent coming through the juniors but unlike last year if they lose a few of these emerging squad players there isn't a lot busting the door down at the moment. Next winger up after Asomua is Stuart and from what I have seen of Esera and Wataire they aren't screaming NRL player ye...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Yeah but I reckon Schiller’s ceiling is high. Probably higher than Asomua’s from what I’ve seen. Completely disagree Reckon Asomua’s ceiling is significantly higher More well rounded player. But we’ll see! Schiller outside of Ponga should be a fun time. Better player than Jenkins and Tuala imo But ...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I guess it makes sense, he should be a centre and playing centre. We can't afford him in that sense. Still very disappointing, I love his speed

Re: 2024 Round 7 v Broncos: Teams and Previews
Just pick Schiller and let him improve. He's become a much better weapon with the ball than I thought he would be. At least his defence might improve: Hoppa's attack won't

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
It looked from the highlights that Chevy's attack had been a little quiet in Cup too. Late last year he seemed to be in a purple patch and setting up a lot of plays. So maybe he's just in a normal downturn Again it's just one game, a debut game at that so means nothing. I can't see him overall as be...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
Savage was very very good. Had a great game. I am a little critical of his slow play the balls sometimes. He’s always looking for that penalty or trying to chat to the ref whilst he’s playing the ball. He needs to just focus that little bit more and he could be a special winger. Yes and I'm confide...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day
I only watched bits and pieces. Seems like Chevy was more safe and solid and committed rather than electric, unlike Savage's debut I remember Dugan's attack started slowly in first grade too. Although this is only one game so not slow yet He doesn't look all that fast to me, looks fastish but not bu...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
He should never have gone to fullback. That was Bennett who did that first right? I know Gould said there were signs of a personality issue with Latrell in his early Roosters days, but I don't think it would have become a tipping point problem if he wasn't in a key position at a key club. Eg he woul...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Teams and Previews
I think Chevy is the missing link of the backline and spine... without overhyping it, I can hardly think of a better fullback to complement our current setup. He will run off Strange and the forwards, almost guaranteed to make a line break doing so... and he will also bring Savage and the other back...

Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Game Day
FG footballers have to be able to defend. I don't want us to be like the 2018 Raiders when we were the 2nd best attacking side in the NRL and missed the finals. The competition is usually won by a Top 5 defensive side. That is what we should aim to be as a group. It is where we currently are; equal...

Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Game Day
Whatever position Savage ends up settling into, I hope he is given licence to play it how he sees it and just be an attacking weapon that transcends the number he’s wearing on his back. He won’t have to look far for inspiration. Remember peak Rapana? Especially in that 2016 season, he’d pop up ever...

Re: 2024 Round 5 v Eels: Game Day
People worrying too much about defence/handling errors again. A couple of comments on Facebook that Schiller "not first grade quality" as a result. Come on. Are we really that risk averse?? I don't relate to these types. Let's have some fun, let's watch someone who can light up the field a...

Re: Parramatta Eels still hoping to hold onto Raiders target Ethan Sanders
All he has to do is what Fogarty is doing now. If he can do more, that's a bonus I'm getting more confident in Strange, and Stewart will round out our attack nicely I feel. So we won't need him to come in and re-invent the wheel I mean it's easy to say that after a nice attacking win, but, there are...

Re: 'We definitely 1 million per cent want to keep Trey': Raiders keen for Mooney to stay
I'm not getting why seniority has to run all the way to the bench. We've already got huge seniority in Tapine/Paps. And Saulo/Guler are really more journeymen than proper seniors I thought Saulo presented really well when presenting Sasagi with his jersey. Maybe Stick likes his attitude and mentalit...

Strange is not someone to build a team around imo. Galvin could be. My hope is that together with Chevy and the Colonel, maybe even add Savage to that, they form a formidable unit These guys are 3 and 4 games into their NRL careers respectively. I think it's a bit early to say what they or can't be...

I think the most likely explanation for his non-inclusion is that Ricky just thinks props shouldn't pay regular firsts until they're a bit older
