Re: A new Canberra Stadium

If Barr is re-elected there is very little doubt in my mind we will be here in April 2028 on page 272 of this tread having this exact same discussion. This whole thing became a farce many many years ago and the bloke is simply not engaging in this issue in good faith. You think Barr is not reading ...

Too right Micky. I can see the headline now in 2028.

“ACT Government announces exciting new feasibility study into future Canberra stadium and plans for the Tuggeranong ice rink continue to progress”.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Annesley making a huge deal about a player just one metre offside in Golden Point isn’t good for his inexperienced female referee and also for all the referees who’ve let go much worse decisions go across the history of Golden Point games. Why single out her decision in such detail, choosing the exa...

Interesting that both Braith and Kent were complaining about the Dally M voting system on 360 last night.

They better watch out they don’t get a call from Rupert telling them not to complain about anything involved in the wider company.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

too many factors going into a tackle and ruck to get an average to compare. Useless stat Yes that’s true for individual tackles or say a few sets of tackles, but when the same game statisticians are doing thousands of tackles every single round and every season, you can reasonably compare data aver...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Fans' Choice Player of the Year

It’s incredible how nearly every voter has Tapine as the best on ground, yet the likes of Billy and the Dally M judges can’t even give him a single point Billy has the odd left field call, but you can’t lump him with Dally M judges. That’s too unfair a comparison. At least Billy watches the games a...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Another point in Annesley’s own data that you would think he would have raised about last nights game (and something that I think most of us watching the game thought live). The Raiders v Titans game had: . The slowest average play the ball speed of all 8 games over the round. . The slowest ruck to ...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Watching the review. I’m surprised Annesley said Badger set the 10m line on the goal line. She was standing slightly in front of the line and the play the ball was almost a metre from the ten metre line. If the tryline is the defensive line, then the referee has to stand on the tryline. This is wher...

2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Annesley highlighting as good news that ‘close results in games’ are a positive, always concerns me. It’s also been referred to by referee officials previously as a benchmark of referee success. This is what leads to a change in the way referees make calls when one team is down by ten points or more...

Re: 2024 Canberra Raiders Dally M votes

Tapine not getting a point sets a new bar for Dally M voting incompetence. And that’s saying something.

NRL and the broader non Daily Telegraph rugby league media need to really kick up a stink about what is meant to be our premier player of the year award.

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

We will need an attacking strategy when the opposition outside backs race up on us umbrella style. They pushed the envelope and left early a lot, but we need a counter measure. Maybe some grubbers through to Savage and unfortunately we don’t have a half or fullback with a strong short pass at the li...

I agree apples oranges. But surely the NRL could have applied a temporary circuit breaker to give all parties some time and some clear air for the medicos to go through proper processes.

The Players Union certainly haven’t been publicly advocating for CHN.

The referees have been expanding six agains in quite a few games. I think both you and Gerg have a point. Some refs are certainly blowing the 6 agains (especially a cluster of two or 3 within a couple of tackles), but I too have noticed some smart teams really pushing the boundaries in the tackle a...

So if Fog decides he wants to play until 34, 35, 36… what happens in those years if we’ve told him he’s a “Raider for Life”? This isn’t bush footy. Trey has a medium term opportunity to take over from Papa. That’s a great long term place to be in for a young developing Prop with your career in front of you.

Imagine having Taps as your front row partner. What an awesome pairing they could become.

Cotric I presume would be a low tier offer.

I personally think Cotric needs to reinvent himself as a second rower. He’s just too slow for a modern day winger and seems unable to get himself into space.

Sharks issued with $5000 fine for trainer’s breach

For the record. According to NRL it wasn’t a formal Raiders complaint about the incident but was immediately flagged by a grounds official and put in the match report.

I think Buzz tried to whip it up as just another Ricky Stuart whinge in his weekly buzz wrap.
