Re: 2024 Round 9: Teams and Game Day
We’ll have to watch the Bulldogs wrestle. They’ve really slowed down the ruck with a lot of work around the arms and the ball.

Yep she let Bulldogs get away with a lot over the last 20 minutes that has frustrated the Tigers into losing the plot.Rick wrote:Badger should stick to being a bunker ref

That late tackle by Crichton on Sezer when he was held in the tackle was ridiculous.

Corey Parker wouldn’t have given Tapine a 7, in his article about players pay today he specifically names Tapine amongst his three over paid forwards list. Geez Parker really has developed a new level of Canberra hatred. I think the criticism he copped has made him look even stronger at his anti Ra...

Actually well highlighted, Brooks was a bit off tonight. He’s been very up and down this season.
He’s a good player when his team is on the front foot, but seems to struggle when his team is under the pump.

That would have been magic. I was there in late 1991 when Mal scored late and kicked the winner from the sideline to keep us in the top 5. Too many other times at Brookvale were very painful. Was that the one at home vs Doggies when Mal reminded reporters after the match, "It's an 80 minute ga...

6 Again Broncos needs to be added to Penalty Broncos.
There was no reason for a 6 again and the ref reacted to a Broncos player asking for it.

Can’t see us getting within 20 points of the Sea Eagles tonight. And even if we do - we all know it’ll be down to another one of these classic Rick rah-rah ambush response performances rather than anything sustainable. It shouldn’t take getting a 40-blot shellacking at home to elicit some effort an...

Well we tried our hardest to lose it... If anything that match really pushed the terrible coaching decisions.... Hoppa had a shocker. Levi held us back all match until he finally benched. Trey Mooney was absolutely outstanding. I bagged him earlier in the year but he has proven me wrong with his time in the NRL he looks to be growing each week. He just needs time to adjust to nrl game speed He’ll only get better. Gotta keep him in the team and let him keep growing Yep. Strong young ...

I was worried Atkins would give a penalty for the voluntary tackle. He's a disgrace. Disgraceful refereeing tonight If ever there was a case for voluntary tackle that was it. Whitehead 3. Easiest call of the season. 1 Cotric, Weekes and Kris. Mooney very good. Lots of good moments for others too. I actually thought Levi was OK today, he led the linespeed often and I thought straightened us up to give the halves more time. Starling did what we want him to do off the bench...

Through green eyes 2024
Very good write up GE. We start the season with various posters wanting these young guys playing from round one and a call to take it easy on our inexperienced youngsters. Suddenly two bad losses and some are blaming the young players, the older players or the coaches. Coaches can’t teach young play...

Correct me if I’m wrong, put Tapine’s missed tackle on Hazelton was downright hideous. It does seem unfair that the younger players have been scapegoated for the loss when it really seemed to me that the more inexperienced, representative forwards put on a shocking display. Tapine’s missed tackle l...

Yeah good point Bot on the distinction between what a player could be and will be. I’m certainly more positive of what our current young crop COULD be, than say the Cornish Picker era. But about the same level as I felt through the Carney, Carney Zilman era. If like the broader Penrith region, Canbe...

3 Timoko
1 each Savage. Schiller. Paps.
But outside Timoko I really struggled to award points.
Unfortunately live at the ground I thought Stewart badly positioned himself in both attack and defence. But that will improve.
Geez we have some weak passers in the team.

Not the best defence from Sanders there. But you can’t expect much more from a young defender than the Laurie Daley or Jack Wighton style of young defender.
