Re: Raiders linked to English second rower Matty Nicholson

For me, in the NRL era, it's Burgess and Graham by a distance. Both true greats. There's then a tier of the next best: Morley, Ellis, Hodgson, Whitehead, Bateman (for impact, not longevity) and probably Lee Jackson if we can just squeeze him in on the timeline. George and Tom Burgess not far off it...

Re: Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart signs four-year contract extension

Players used to love Matt Elliott too, and he was a crap coach. I think that's not be got by for so long, by being likeable Disclaimer, Stuart is incomparably better than Elliott I think some players like Schif loved Matt Elliot, but others less so. Ricky definitely has more buy in from the group t...

Re: 2024 Round 11 v Bulldogs: Game Day

360 has got even worse this year. It used to at least discuss broader issues across the teams and across the game. Now it’s just talking about whatever is happening with the big teams and whatever is in today’s and tomorrow’s newspapers. The worst bit is they now discuss for example, a south Sydney ...

Re: 2024 Round 11 v Bulldogs: Game Day

Phil Gould certainly has an incredible ability to sell the Bulldogs to a young half and paint them a picture of what and where they can be in their career going forward and sign them to a contract. He’s a master operator. I doubt he highlights how quickly they could be spat out if they don’t perform...

I admittedly have never listened to Alan Tongue and made some assumptions there, interesting to know he's gone over the top the other way but you get the point... you don't expect to get a lot of neutrality from people in the media who have a clear attachment to a club. Id like to think a guy like ...

Re: 2024 Round 11 v Bulldogs: Game Day

James Graham on NRL360 talked about how we got 2 lucky tries, no mention of the great tackle that caused one but also failed to highlight the Dogs got tries whilst we were down men and then didn't score another point when we were at full compliment. He played the majority of his NRL career at the d...

2024 Round 11 v Bulldogs: Game Day

If that’s Annesley’s definition of a hip drop and what the NRL is looking for, then I’m OK with that. I think he made some logical points that I can accept his ruling. But let’s hope Annesley and NRL decision makers are consistent on this interpretation going forward. We’ve all seen Annesley draw a ...

Yep I think he’s eyeing off Papa’s spot long term.

Our club is on the rise and if these young players kick on, who knows where we could be in a couple of years.

If I was a fringe hooker I’d be looking to try and nab a roster spot behind our forward pack.

Even in old games Savage wasn’t lacking in effort, just application. He’d get rag dolled a bit and fall off tackles, but he was always trying hard. He’s improved in both areas since 2022. He’s had a moment or two this year where he lacked a bit of urgency covering a kick or stopping a 40/20, but I ...

Going wide would have given the defence a chance to scramble.

The more I’ve looked at the Brian Kelly no try for Titans I can’t see a point where the ball has ‘definitely’ come away from the hand and that it’s clear that the bunker can overrule the on field referees call. My thoughts yesterday was no try, but I’m starting to waver. Yes the ball bobbled away fr...

Corey Parker is the dumbest commentator. Discuss. He just can’t back up his statements with valid arguments or insightful points on the play.
