Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2020

He’s only played five NRL games, one at fullback, one at half and one on the wing... both games he’s played this year off the bench. It’s a no from me... of course I’ve been wrong before, but Dragons cast off isn’t inspiring me. Would rather do some retention. Stuart isn’t giving all these young gu...

Re: Rugby League 2020

Forwards only in scrums:

adds complexity and confusion, increases the pressure on refs, will likely create an issue when the ref misses a person.

I don’t see the benefit value for this rule change. Rugby league needs to be kept simple. Not complex like rugby union.

Re: Whosze Yoz Luvez - NRL Favourite Teams

Agree. Channel 9 has shrunk the reach and coverage of rugby league outside Sydney and Brisbane. They only have themselves to blame. EPL free to air shows Wolves and Southampton not just Liverpool, Chelsea, Man United etc. Regional games must be shown on free to air in regional centres. We are losing...

Had to laugh when Brent Read said how unhappy Channel 9 would be with clubs like the Raiders resting so many key players. Is this the same Channel 9 that basically never shows the Raiders, can’t pronounce their captain and gives the Raiders very little coverage and promotion. Saturday’s Raiders side...

Re: Curtis Scott police assault charges dropped after court rules arrest 'unlawful'

Pity the NSW police commissioner was too busy speaking on 2gb radio to Instead provide his damning evidence at the actual trial in front of the magistrate.

Can’t he see that his radio interview gives more credence to those who claim that inappropriate policing procedures comes from the top.

I think staying at home for the next few weeks and steeling ourselves for a few big weeks away is probably the safest option.

Sharks bashing our key players wouldn’t have been out of the question.

Ricky Stuart fined $10,000 over bottle throw

Ricky admirably and with remarkable charity to the Roosters and refs involved, held back in his comments over a number of the disastrous and likely game changing referee decisions from the grand final. He also bit his lip with how poorly the refs boss handled the issues post game and how Annesley tr...

Unless you interpret it as payback from the refs. In which case we’re well into fine territory. Payback in relation to the refs just doesn’t seem a common or logical term. Certainly not one I’ve ever heard from NRL people before. I guess it’s such a broad term it could be about anything. But if the...

Re: NRL considering fine for Raiders coach Ricky Stuart over press conference

Stuart's gripes are legitimate but they also crossed the line that is probably worthy of a fine. He'll be lucky to avoid one, and i think he said what he said fully expecting one. I don’t think Ricky crossed a line more than other coaches who haven’t been fined this year. The comment they are conce...

When even the open minded and completely contrarian ref calls analyst Botman has been highlighting some of the poor standard of refereeing lately, then the NRL should know they have a problem.

Annesley is an absolute joke!!! Let’s just look at the grand final itself to see how blatantly he treats how he chooses to select refs errors and deal with them through the media. We had guys from the Melbourne office come to Canberra in Feb wearing ski jackets. It was 42 degrees and they said they’d brought them because they heard Canberra was cold. They learnt their lesson and copped it for years (even from fellow Melburnians).

Sutton has Lui covered for run meters pre and post contact. I love Sutton’s no holds barred attack and defensive clout. As we saw yesterday, Murchie brings size and effort but he brings very little natural football skills. He killed a couple of half chances for Warriors yesterday by running the wrong lines, getting in the wrong place and/or not passing.

Lui was as professional as ever in defence and attack, Bateman was tough and the refs were absolutely woeful helping to create a scrappy game.

I don’t think two elite props is the way to go.

An elite fullback would be much better value to us.

Let’s change the dates on that contract Tedesco signed in 2015.

Looks like he has a great off field relationship with players like Sia, Croker, Wighton and Lui in particular.

I think that has helped Papa settle into his football and family roles that are so important to him. What a club leader he has become.

I posted this as an issue that would inevitably arise a few weeks back. I therefore have to put the blame back on Annesley. It’s a Good sign for how the players think the direction of the club, coaches, training facilities are going.

I’m still shocked that Cotric took money at the weakest club in the competition over continued development at a stronger club.
