Re: That decision
Gday raiders fans. It’s been a long, long time since I posted on a forum. I lost my love for the NRL years ago - I still love the sport, I just hate the way that the NRL runs the game. I used to watch every single game, every round. Now I try to catch as many raiders games as possible - but barely c...

Re: Sandor Earl rebukes posters on The Greenhouse
Fair enough responses, I saw the score an for some reason thought of this place and was curious whether it was still as popular. It appears it is, good luck to you guys, just don't take it too seriously as you might be able to actually enjoy the game rather than letting it dictate too much of your l...

Re: Sandor Earl rebukes posters on The Greenhouse
I haven't come to this forum in so long because it got embarrassing being associated with it to be honest. If I were a raiders player I would hate this place and its members too. It's full of people who are, to put it softly, a joke. My interest in footy and the raiders has dropped pretty significan...

Re: Orford may end season in a park
I couldn't care less. To me he's never been a Raiders player, just a mistake. Nothing against Orford, but you've got to earn my support (earn is a very generous word too, all you have to do is actually get on the park and have a crack - after all, Purtell had my support irrespective of his performan...

Why would Campo come back this year? It's a lost cause. He might as well wait for 2012 and just let this team start again.

Re: Raiders iPhone Application
This isn't really anything to be applauded. It's a $4 app that is essentially nothing more than raiders.com.au information and live scores (which I struggle to believe would be as fast as live scores for the Rugby League Live app). Pointless really, but it'll no doubt capitalise on all those people ...

Re: Well done
Albi (and other friends who have somehow found a positive out of yesterday), you have to realise that our problem wasn't scoring. Our problem was absolutely, completely and utterly inept defence. The players out there disgraced themselves. If you think they were tired, refer to my previous post, the...

Re: Another Dugan rumor
What anti-tampering laws? They are gone.
But given the way our team simply gave up when Dugan got injured yesterday (despite having a massive lead at the time), is it safe to say that same group of players will refuse to try (again) if he's not in the squad.

Re: Well done
I honestly cannot fathom how anyone could say ‘well done’ or ‘gutsy’ after that game. Are you assuming because we had 15 players that they all had to do extra work? Well, they didn’t. Because of all the tries there were countless breaks for them to recover. Shaun Fensom made 58 tackles, a big effort...

Re: 2011 Canberra TV news reports
It's hard not to agree. Having 3 players coming back from relatively serious injuries could be a huge risk. All it takes is for one of them to come undone and we are in big trouble against a team with someone as dangerous as JT.
Plus the boys who beat Melbourne and the Dogs deserve their spot.

Re: An inconvenient truth
I've never understood the concept of paying out a contract. Maybe someone else can explain that one to me. If you pay out someones contract, you effectively give them all the money you were going to give them anyway - and then don't have the option of using them in an emergency. Is that correct? Or ...

Re: David Furner on ABC 666 Local Grandstand after 11am
Why on earth would anyone have an issue with us taking the penalty goal against the Dogs? That was the easiest decision to make in history, always take an opportunity to stretch a lead beyond one score if you can. Particularly when your team has done all the work, and even moreso when there is bugge...

Raiders and the Maroons
G'day, I’m in a debate with a mate from work about how many Raiders players have also played for Queensland in State of Origin. I know there’s been plenty, but I’d like to throw the exact figure at him (and their names) to prove a point. Does anyone know if such a list is documented anywhere? If not...

I don't question his effort or commitment, but I don't think Galea brings that much to our team to be honest. His strength is his defence, but in all honesty that is the role that we should have Tongue and Fensom in. And if we do have Tongue and Fenson as our defensive backrowers, we need our third ...

Boys, boys, boys - if you've ever got Coogee questions, I'm your man. The place you are thinking of GE is called Oceans, and it's underneath the Crowne Plaza. And you're right, all away teams use it as their base in Sydney (including the Raiders at times). A girl I was seeing last year worked at the...

That is the most ridiculously unfair criticism of a player I've read in a long time. If you question Dugan's effort for our club, you are a clown.

What was reported incorrectly? My only concern is the same as the comments that were voiced by a couple of people in the previous page - I don't necessarily want Furner sacked. Actually as we stand right now I don't think that's a good idea at all. What I do want is for everyone to at least have acc...

Re: A call to action
We've seen him utilise different gameplans, last year we were never a 5 hitups and kick team. I believe the problem lies in him thinking that the only way to dig your way out is to cut out the risky plays and 'go back to basics'. It's easy to be conservative if there is no pressure on you to achieve...

We are all aware of the accusations of nepotism (whether they are fair or not) that have been directed at the Canberra Raiders recently. With this in mind, and given the rather alarming comments made by a board member of the Canberra Raiders this week - what is the process in which someone is electe...

I have been silent on the whole Furner issue for quite some time. To be honest, I'm happy to keep him on as coach........on the condition that he acknowledges that one game plan isn't necessarily the only way, flexibility is important - particularly when the one gameplan isn't working. I think the f...

Do Souths Logan need Orford?
I think we just shake his hand, tell him "well done mate, you and your manager really pulled one over us on that deal" and rid ourselves of him.

Re: Don Furner and John Mackay on ABC Radio 666
Unlike others, I haven't been blaming Furner this whole time. Until the Manly game. That was the single worst game plan (for lack of a better word) that I've ever seen. Even when down by 20, in a do or die game, after not looking like scoring a point - he wants them to stick to basics. THE BASICS AR...

To be fair guys, Furner never has a team run out 1-17. This could be smoke and mirrors from him again so that Manly don’t know who the new players will be. I’m quite confident that we’ll see at least one change in both the forwards and backline (and probably on the bench as well). I also support the...
