Re: NRL announces rule changes for trainers, endorses challenge system

The scrum rule I like. As a team you’d set the scrum in the middle of the field every time. 3v3 each side, or 4v4 and 2v2. Best of luck stopping RTS, Ponga and Co in those spots. I like it too, if it can be implemented. You get the choice of a huge backline movement, a quite large blindside, or a c...

Re: NRL announces rule changes for trainers, endorses challenge system

Firstly, an honest question does the AFL and Rugby , soccer, tennis etc keep changing the rules? If they don't there might be a good reason for it!! AFL change their rules every year, this past season they brought in a compulsory zone system to increase scoring. The result was the lowest scores in ...

Having been a fan since 82 (or was it 83) but a member for only a few years, I don't really need a sew-on patch - especially for 3 years' membership. This is not cubs in the 1970s... nor do I own any Golden Breed product. That said, I don't wear caps anyway, except to keep my dreads hat in place. H...

Yeah, that is good news. Obviously couldn't get another club to stump up enough cash for 2020 for us to release him. I don't think we need to anymore with both Sezer and Rapana's cash suddenly becoming available. Yes, that is true. But the club did give his manager permission to negotiate with othe...

I've started rewatching Season 2019 as my off season entertainment. A yearly ritual. I'm only a few rounds in but rumours of CNK's lack of ball playing ability may be greatly exaggerated. I'm only 4 rounds in (not watching losses unless I like the game for closeness) but he's already thrown the rig...

You can’t build on a creek at Turner. The only thing near Phillip District is the hospital and the cemetery. I'm tipping that you could build on the creek. What happens to Sullivans Creek? More specifically, what happens when it floods, which it has certainly been known to do? https://www.environme...

He's only 17, or maybe just turned 18. I think that you have to be at least 18 before you can play NRL, but we shouldn't be expecting any more than Jersey Flegg for him at the moment. Have to be 18 to play NRL - that's why Lebanon got into a kerfuffle at the International Nines. Because they were b...

Thickos was good value. Smart guy. Sadly, thickos left without ever explaining to anyone why he left. I believe it could have been the nefarious influence of the AFL and the Swans. It is a sad thing for all of us. Albi did much the same, and even though I see him quite regularly still, he never rea...

Re: Civic still preferred stadium option for Canberra Raiders

EPIC is difficult to get to from much of Canberra and Queanbeyan. Bruce would be better than EPIC. Civic would be far superior to both of them. This is deflection, so that when it is rebuilt at Bruce, the punters are satisfied that it wasn't built at EPIC rather than angry that it wasn't built in C...

Close the western end of Constitution Avenue, knock down the civic CIT and build it there, on what is currently the CIT and a dirt carpark.. Fill in civic pool and build a real CIT there. No need to mess about with Parkes Way.

So much love on this board for our CCM winner! I trust it will work out. The guy is on $750k and the club was roundly bagged out for paying him that. It's not like it'd take a huge jump to compete with other offers. I'm not sure that's what he's on - it's what the extension option was, and I ...

Paul Kent made a good point in his rant against these tactics from player managers. Let players break contracts but don't let them earn more than their existing deal. That removes the incentive for managers to play these games. Makes sense as when a club cuts a player short they are compelled to ma...
