Re: Sydney fans rorted

I’ve said it a million times. If the NRL wanted to support and grow country rugby league. Ensure regional teams are shown on free to air TV in regional areas. Not much Foxtel being purchased in Nimmitibell or Tumut. These folks should be seeing Raiders games each weekend (at least on delay). Same s...

Re: Canberra Raiders enjoy crowds and sponsorship boom in wake of NRL grand final run

I dont reckon crowds are up because of the clap, i mean it hasnt hurt our numbers, but our incredible run in 2016 and potential with a relatively stable roster since then would have had a far greater impact in my opinion. Having a better Game Day experience has drawn a lot of fair weather fans back...

I just find it really hard not to utterly reject an endorsement from Alan Jones. Especially as he admits he actually knows nothing about it (perhaps he should read this thread). For those of you without long memories, Jones has a history of backing people that history shows maybe he shouldn't have. ...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott faces NRL stand down unless he hands over video footage

I was in Sydney early in the New Year and got to watch the NSW Police perform a "random search" on a young lady who had had too much to drink but was seemingly short of being described as drunk and disorderly. I don't know the young lady, never seen her previously or since, but the behaviour of the...

As for the conversation, if you think about how it might sound coming from the two characters, add an emphasis on the word "THIS" and remember that THIS team was picked after a big win, i.e.: I asked him if he thought I wasn’t good enough for the team, and he said, ‘you’re not good enough for this t...

Re: Canberra Raiders recruit Curtis Scott arrested after Moore Park incident

Fact is Ricky and the club don't know Curtis Scott very well. We don't know his character properly, and we can't fully assess his ability to mature and turn things around. I applauded him when he kicked off donations to the bushfire appeal by putting in a big sum of his own, but those good intentio...

The Tigers don't have to match Leilua's contract for 2020... the Raiders have already paid a quarter of it... and the longer it goes, the more the Raiders will have paid. No they don't, but they have to pay him a salary that's enough to make him want to move rather than accept a possible downgrade ...

I’m just not sure that madge and his robotic training/systems are going to be good for Joey. If he goes to the Tigers I sure hope that's the case! Is there any reason why Curtis Scott should be regarded as a good winger? And specifically, a better winger than BS?

I don't think it very likely that Joey won't be in the no 4 shirt either actually. He may not be going anywhere at the end of this year. Unless the Titans have money to burn.

I am impressed with the way social media portrays the Raiders as treating "sixagain" as a joke from the past we aren't worried about. Which is great because of course we shouldn't be. Botman's remarks about Bill Belichick are also on the money: you have to look at what your squad has right now and g...

Re: NRL announces rule changes for trainers, endorses challenge system

The scrum rule I like. As a team you’d set the scrum in the middle of the field every time. 3v3 each side, or 4v4 and 2v2. Best of luck stopping RTS, Ponga and Co in those spots. I like it too, if it can be implemented. You get the choice of a huge backline movement, a quite large blindside, or a c...

Firstly, an honest question does the AFL and Rugby , soccer, tennis etc keep changing the rules? If they don't there might be a good reason for it!! AFL change their rules every year, this past season they brought in a compulsory zone system to increase scoring. The result was the lowest scores in ...

I've started rewatching Season 2019 as my off season entertainment. A yearly ritual. I'm only a few rounds in but rumours of CNK's lack of ball playing ability may be greatly exaggerated.
