Re: 2019 in review - Josh Papalii

If you were statistically deriving the score 10 should be impossible, but these scores are subjective. There's a range of performance within each score.

*edit* ok, I see why it's near impossible under your method

10/10. I don't know how a front rower could possibly play better or have more influence on results.

Surely we can includes some career after footy clauses in his deal at this point, ala Boyd at the Broncos.

7/10. He had a very good year and played well in some big games. His defense and discipline are top tier, which counts for a lot in my book regardless of position.

Jack's Instagram story has him towing a boat out of a garage. Some vintage Melbourne Storm cap management at play perhaps?

Time to get over the $1m thing. It's just a number and one that must've shrunk about 50% in real terms since the first player signed a deal for that much.

He'd be a better halfback than Hastings.

Good for us he has got the chance to develop at center. Gives us options if one goes down during the game.

If you include Origin and club form NRL players would win it every year. They already have multiple awards for that.

So from what I understand Saracens cheated massively to win the previous two comps and their punishment doesn't even include stripping those comps? At least the NRL got that part right with the Storm.

Re: 2019 in review - Jarrod Croker

Try cause actually uses a very practical criteria and is a great stat once you go beyond the raw number. Easily one of the best defensive stats we have, it nails a lot of players issues. Dismissing it because it is measured in a certain way makes no sense at all, as much as taking the raw number as ...

It's hard to mark him. He did miss a lot of footy but he was probably still as influential as a lot of players that didn't. I will give him a 6 on that basis.

I mean if BJ goes in 2021 I'd view him as a logical upgrade even at a premium. Maybe not 1m but 800k range. I can't see it happen at all though, we never sign high profile players.

Re: Strongest 2020 line up

History shows me that the odds and risks of a winger going down during a game is far less than losing your only genuine dummy half. I'd much rather cover 9 than 2 and 5 on the bench. I don't think that is right. If memory serves we lost wingers in at least 5 games this year. Charnze and BJ in a cou...

You are multiple times more likely to lose a back than a hooker. There are 5 of them after all.

I'm surprised we haven't seen the return of more genuine utilities already. It's the perfect time for them.
