Re: Wests Tigers consider signing Joey Leilua from Canberra Raiders

Hopefully either way it doesn't drag out. I'd assume depending on his deal the longer it takes the bigger the hit on our cap.

These are the proposed changes / key points based on the feedback during the season and to start discussion. Let me know of any strong preferences. - Squads reduced from 26 to 22? - Kicker points to be reduced from 10 to 6? The other option is to use the team kicker option so you pick a team and not...

It's perpetual now.

Looks like we have 11/12 confirmed already, just Limegreenmachines left to come back to me.

*edit* he confirmed he is in, so we have a full complement back for season 2 !

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2020

Joey will be 28 this season which is still a players prime.

I hope he stays. We need very little improvement over last year to win the whole thing and I'd rather find that elsewhere than move on a player who is so influential it could have a major impact.

At least it makes the Roosters weaker for next year and I still think with have the Rabbitohs covered. Personally I have my doubts Bennett takes enough risks to coach a premiership team anymore as well.

It still sucks that to see the top talent going to the same teams though.

Here is another idea that might be controversial for some. Paul Vaughan is being massively over-rated in the poll result, compared to Shannon Boyd and Junior Paulo. I like Vaughan and he’s a Canberra junior... but I think he’s being partly judged on what he’s done since he left the Raiders. Vaughan...

I'd prefer keepers but I will go with what most people want to do. We can reduce squad numbers and make any other changes discussed (I think kicker points was mentioned).

I'll chase people up later this month to see who is still in.

I went the same but Tapine just over Paulo. Boyd is a but unlucky as well, he stunk at the end but he still played some great footy for us.

Bench utillity and especially hooker is a genuine specialised position and one we used on and off for the whole decade. Picking a player who basically never played there doesn't make sense to me.

It's the same reason the bench for mine has to have at least 2 middles on it.

Much better production in attack.
Better short kicking.
Slightly worse defense.
Much higher error rate.

Scapegoat odds are about 2 to 1 for mine and up there with the favourites.

Fensom was an excellent player at his peak and much better than a fringe first grader. He won Raiders player of the year in 2012, which was a good football side packed with talent. Cody Walker is managed by Rose and also just accepted 650k a year, which suggests the money Jack was on is still right. If we come back with the same deal he was on and Rose is being honest then I would expect the deal to get done.

Shillo is the obvious pick. Then you either go for Papa's one legendary season or Vaughan's 3 very good ones. I went the latter and will pick Papa at second row.

Boyd and Paulo were also pretty good amd Sia will likely be my first bench forward chosen.

800k of the Storm deal is supposedly with Smith and I would think he could earn that without any dodgy dealings. You would think of any player he has a lot of whole of game deals as well. If I recall at its peak TPAs were 15m total on a 6.5m cap. It would be very interesting to see the historical nu...

I don't mind 20/40 and it won't come up much. Most of the time teams get pinned on their line it's because the opposition is leaving early and is offside anyway. 3 places for the scrum is good. For mine the one player it can't possibly be is Dugan. He did a huge amount of damage to the club and would've cost us dozens of wins indirectly.

Even if you ignore that, I don't think he is an obvious choice given his first year was last decade and it was one of his best.

I thought Collins was used quite oddly, particarly having him ride the bench in the Warriors game.
