Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

I suppose it depends on whether he could get a comparable deal in the NRL somewhere.

Re: Canberra Raiders forward Ryan Sutton should be called up to Great Britain squad

Sutton is a much better lock than frontrower from what I have seen, and a much better starting player. His biggest asset is his defense, he is a top tier NRL player in that aspect and you need that out there for as long as possible. They could do worse than try and fit him in there at some point and...

Re: Canberra Raiders reportedly settle three year deal for George Williams

Where would Sezer be going? Because I can't see him agreeing to go to England. It would have to be a three way deal.

Avoiding the UK would perhaps explain his recent good form though.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

Even if the player asks for an upgrade to market value, it's just putting the Club in the same position as it would be if the player was a free agent anyway. It won't impact savings up to that point and it gives the club first option to keep the player. These deals are only bad if the player goes so...

That’s based on your assessment of value at 1.3M which I don’t agree with
If the Dogs are paying 1.1m for a temperamental centre you don't think they would pay 1.3m for Lolo?

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

I think it's 3 in for the Lolo deal isn't it? Really you'd be paying 1.3+ for him if he hit the open market. So it's pretty quickly going to give a positive return. The other thing in favour of these deals is the rules around medical retirements and jobs post footy seem to be a bit more relaxed the...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

If it is 5 years for 5 million and it's to play fullback it's a gamble but worth it. That would take him through to 28 when the deal finishes which is when athletic backs start to slow down.

10 years is crazy, Inglis was a spent force by 29.

TV might not be but digital will be a lot more and total revenue will be higher. It won't be growing exponentially like in the past though.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

11 million dollar, 10 year play?? That's a bold strategy, Cotton! It’s a good offer. Salary cap will continue to go up every year so in 4 - 5 years time it will probably be the average price for a blue chip centre Sent from my iPhone using The Greenhouse mobile app powered by Tapatalk The cap won't...

Not Raiders related but it could easily have flow on effects. The Dogs are supposed to have offered Mitchell a 10 year, 11.5m dollar deal. https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-premiership/exclusive-bulldogs-make-record-115-million-10year-play-for-sydney-roosters-superstar-latrell-mitchell/news-story...

I guess Jack being picked at centre for NSW blows away the conspiracy theory there is some sort of bias against the Raiders keeping Croker out of Origin. Tbf with Klemmer, Woods, Lodge, TPJ, McLean, Fifita, Haas all unavailable for various reasons it’s slim pickings. Tbh I’d have picked Junior Paulo if he wanted in.

Bemusement ensues whenever talk of letting Leilua move on starts up again. We’re going well as a team atm. But really we’re struggling big time in attack and people are thinking of moving on the second best centre in the game and our most creative attacking weapon? Really? We’re missing Leilua heav...

If all teams are fit and focussed then it's a big 1 for mine. The Roosters win comfortably again. They are running second and unlike the Storm and South's haven't played near their best.
