Re: Coaching issues
Why even have a coach then, is always my answer to that. Is he just there to fill up the water bottles? Come on Nickman, that’s not my argument. The coach bears some responsibility for both good performances and poor performances. But not all responsibility. Is Jordan Rapana a good player because o...

I'm not a "Ricky hater", but I also don't think his **** doesn't stink. I don't think what you've listed above is the only way to judge coaching. Plenty of players left the Raiders and played better footy elsewhere. I would say the below list of players played worse footy since joining th...

Re: Coaching issues
I also don't think attributing 'good' attack years (points scored) to Ricky's good coaching is entirely objective either. Looks how we scored most of those points - was it structured attack based on a targetted game plan to exploit opposition weaknesses, or lucky crash-ball plays coupled with sheer...

Corey Harawira Naera’s career remains in limbo
She's not.
You're actually making her point.
If he was sitting on the couch and had a medical episode, he would not be getting paid or be employed.
That sounds harsh, but it's reality.
We only get so much sick leave in the work force for conditions outside of our employment

Which players have gone backwards since joining the raiders? That's the way you judge coaches/the impact of anything. Take a snapshot before, baseline. Then measure the improvement, the affect. Let's be reasonable here. Ricky haters, tell us, who's gone backwards? I'm not a "Ricky hater",...

I don't think it's personal. FWIW I'd be playing Woolford over Levi. I really think it is personal. Woolford as shown in the last 2 years he offers more offensively and defensively than Levi does, yet Ricky picks Levi over him regardless. I think it's entirely personal. And as I've said previously,...

Re: 2024 Round 8 v Sharks: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*
The only reason I can think of to justify Starling's selection is experience. Aside from Levi he has more experience than Woolford and Puru. With such an inexperienced backline, he's probably looking for more experience on the field. Really? You don't think it's because the coach just doesn't like ...

Re: Hooker for 2025 and future years
I think Starling has more versatility to his game than Woolford. At least the coaches appear to think that way. Starling can fill in at middle, can sub in the halves in a pinch, and is quick from dummy half. Shame is, he's not particularly good at any of them. I think this role should go to Puru.

Pretty keen to see Hoppa come in for Schiller. Other than that, the team should stay the same. Trey performed really well I thought. Glad to hear Kaeo is coming into the halves. It's a shame our halves and edge forward depth is being tested do early. The areas where we have least coverage. Very unl...

Levi showed again why he is a journeyman. For a player with his experience he just makes unnecessary mistakes. The injury to Fog is interesting. Let's see how that goes. His kicking game was pivotal. Do we trust Adam Cook? Do we play Weekes? Or something else? I imagine the mood in camp is quiet unc...

Good news. I'd be as shattered if he left for one final big pay day as when Wiki left. He deserves to be our highest capped player. Playing rep footy since 19 y/o, an absolute monster on the edge, then converting to arguably the most consistent prop in the game over the last 5ish years. One of our ...

That whole left side attack has been almost entirely rebuilt from last season's disaster of Cotric-Croker-Young-Wighton. Kris is largely doing his job well and I'm sure will shine after a few kinks are ironed out in their positioning. The defence already looks infinitely better than last season. Se...
