Re: Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart set to sign four-year contract extension
For arguments sake, for the Ricky fans. What are his KPIs for the next 5 years? Premiership or bust or are you content with making finals more often than not? Re: Canberra Raiders coach Ricky Stuart set to sign four-year contract extension
We had a better coach in Wayne Bennett, replaced them with a better coach in Tim Sheens, were a powerpoint presentation from Matt Elliott away from hiring a better one in Craig Bellamy The idea that we cant do better is demonstratably false. And if your best arguement for justifying this is "w...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
I wouldn't be opposed to Crichton, I thought we should have made a play earlier. But now I'm worried his price is too high. We've got to be careful as if these kids we have got hit thier straps we are going to need to pay top dollar to keep them all. With EW moving on, we need an experienced and hi...

And I'd be thrilled if we signed Chrichton. He is quality. If he doesn't go to RU, I think he'd go to STG or Dogs, as they seem to have the cap space. Maybe Souths if they don't retain Walker.

Great write up, Fergus.
I'll never forget 1994. One of the best years of my life.

Where on earth are all these better male referees?! The ref pathway system is very political and ineffective. Now that I've read the rest of the thread - I really don't think the standard of refereeing this year has been any better or any worse than previous years. We have a few female referees now which I guess makes it a talking point and them an easy target for some of the dinosaurs in our game. Sharpe ...

I'm at peace with the onfield ref making mistakes, they are human. I'm fine with the Bunker going with the onfield decision when it's probably wrong but not conclusive. Annersley does make it worse.
And I agree that only the captain should be able to speak to the ref, and players should be addressed by number not name.
The way nrl players have taken on the behaviour of soccer players carrying on with the ref is infuriating.

People just need to relax on both sides. Have I seen hints from Chevy in first grade that he’ll be a super star or even a long term first grader? Not really. Re: Canberra Raiders back NRL call to eliminate disrespect towards match officials
I've been a referee in Group 20 and the Sunshine Coast comp. It's a brutal and often thankless job. But I loved it. Any ref will tell you, just be consistent. If a player is up on your face, caution him. If he persists, march them 10. If it's over the top, bin him. It's really not hard. The NRL have...
