Re: Kurt Baptiste to return to Canberra Raiders

Havilli just signed 2 year deal.

i think it would mean Garvey is gone and potentially Havilli as backup lock/second row where he played on Saturday night from the bench.

Better option than Bateman IMO.

Re: Rumormill - Papalii off to Souths

There will always be rumours and innuendo when a players contract is up and they would be silly not to listen. If he wants to go then he will go regardless of the offer as these guys are not really short of coin these days. Players say they want to do the best for their families but an extra $100k o...

Re: Paulo to Parramatta Eels in 2019?

So who do we think are our realistic options / targets for 2019? Not sold on the Glasby rumour to be honest. Not too many players come out of the Melbourne system and set the world alight. (only exception I can think of is Blake Green) Someone suggested making a play for Campbell-Gillard which I thi...

Paulo to Eels in 2019?

So who do we spend our money on and who is a realistic option? Junior Paulo set to head to Parramatta Eels on four year deal worth over $600,000 a season The under-performing Eels are preparing for a cleanout at the end of the season after paying massive ‘overs’ to sign Raiders prop Junior Paulo for...

Vossy for sure with Warren Smith as close 2nd for commentator. Paul Kent is my favourite tv journo. Seems to always have inside knowledge of situations and never pulls any punches. Re: Canberra set to re-sign Whitehead to end 2020

I like this re-signing. He is a current international and runs the ball up well. Has good skill and is versatile. Can do some silly things at the wrong time or position of the field when he is trying to milk penalties but I like him and glad he wants to re-commit to the Raiders. When you look at Eng...

Stating the obvious we need to win all our games to make the finals but assuming that is the case I really think we need to ensure our for and against in superior to the teams around us as I think 8th position will be decided on this. We are currently better than the Panthers but need to overtake th...

if you think you can predict the outcome of the next 40 games to be played then you are a genius!!!!

Ladder predictors are a great time waster and give hope to the hopeless.

All I know is the Raiders just need to keep on winning to give themselves any chance.

What I don't get is why we use our props as ball players rather than just make them run straight and hard and get a roll on up field? Stuart says we needed to change our game from last year as teams cotton-on to our play but in over 100 years of football when has hard, straight running forwards been...

I may be in the minority but I think we need to get behind Sezer. We know the guy can play from his time at the Titans but has only showed glimpses of this when at the Raiders. If the rumours are true about Austin wanting out, I see keeping Sezer as a priority. If we compare the 2 players, Sezer has...

Re: Canberra Raiders sign Michael Oldfield and Liam Knight

Reasonable signings IMO. Knight looms as the one with the most potential and likely to get 1st grade time. My guess is he will put pressure on Priest and Bateman and Taylor is probably on notice if we decide to extend as this is where the weakness is in our top 17 at the moment. Baptiste and Tapine ...

Golden try for me. I think this encourages positive play rather than negative one off the ruck running to the posts for a field goal attempt. Maybe if a field goal is kicked in extra time then that 5 min period needs to be completed rather than the game stopping. This would give each team a few chan...

I was a Roosters fan going up in the Western Suburbs of Sydney when I was about 12 years old and copped heaps of flack. This could be a great signing by Stuart. Nothing to lose and everything to gain if Taylor has turned himself around. There will be no doubt we will be affected by origin next year with Boyd, Papalii and possibly Leulai and Croker and Austin affected so to have someone like Taylor who can play most p...

I remember he was part of our coaching staff in 2008 under Neil Henry when we went on that good run to the semis when Campo was on fire. Our attack was as good as any that year. Re: Do we want to lose a game?

no for a loss from me. We we play hard and play our best team possible and lose then it would send more of a shock wave through our team then if we rested players and lost. This would just give us an excuse as to why we lost and would teach the player nothing. Potentially only need 4 more wins to li...

Re: Austin injury = Season over?

As much as Ricky has said Sammy comes into the team, doesn't mean he will necessarily play him. He might be just bringing him into the 1st grade squad to train and be a back up plan. It must be considered that Whitehead has also filled in for us previously this season at 5/8 and could do so again.

At worst I reckon he would be available 2nd week of finals if we don't get through the 1st week.

Sezer had a fractured cheekbone, which is far more serious, and was back in 4 weeks from what I can recall.

Rest up Blakey and be raring to go come finals time!!

A big NO from me to rest players. Unless a player has a genuine injury that needs resting, we should field our team as if we would for week 1 of the finals. Momentum is everything and like what the Sharks and Cowboys have shown in recent weeks, you can't flick a switch and start winning again. I wou...

Re: Ricky Stuart rejects approach for Joey Leilua to join Bl

For my 2 cents worth I would make the following changes in game 3 to start with.

Tedesco @ Fullback
Maloney moves to 7
Moylan / J Bird to 5/8 while other is utility
Ryan James for Tamou
Leulia for Jennings
Graham for G Bird
Maybe Peats for Farah

I think you need to take each scenario on its merits. If you are rolling down the field and have the opposition on the back foot I say go for the try. I would only endorse the penalty goal if play has slowed up, we need it to take the lead or to make a converted try difference. We are an attacking t...

Like most people have said the points system cannot work in the real world.

Players have contracts over a few years which can bind them to a club. If the value of players increase for varying reasons, how could they force teams to let players go?

Due to the time of the game, you could either park in Parramatta Park itself or park on the Westmead side of Parramatta Park and walk through to Pirtek. It would be about a 10-15 minute walk through the park and easy getaway.

No parking meters either.
