Re: 2022
I was thinking the Tigers as well. I would have taken a flyer on Tariq Sims before re-signing Soliola. He would be a great bench impact player for us. Much better than Whitehead. As far as players being available for November, that's for 2023, not next year. We could be in for a real lean year next ...

Re: 2021 Season reviews
Good post Matt. I’d love to be at a board meeting and hear Ricky answer a simple question about what he thinks needs to change for us to succeed next year. Cheers. I really don't see too many issues with the roster. Its not the best roster in the league, but its certainly not the worst. Obviously #...

Re: 2021 Season reviews
Teams are choosing both better and worse coaches to play under next year. Fitzgibbon comes from an elite club whereas Kevvy isn't proving to be much chop but we'll see how he goes with Reynolds and Staggs next year. My bet is with Ikin running the front office they'll be far more formidable than thi...

Re: 2022
In 2019 we landed John Bateman. In 2022, he will not be there and we are yet to make a single signing. In 2019 we had a better half in Sezer, who is also no longer with us. We finished tenth this year and I see the Bulldogs and Broncos both leaping us next year. Sharks will improve and Knights will ...

Re: 2022
I'd bring Nicholls back in a heartbeat (if he is in fact off contract). He's been excellent for Souffs this year. I also think Pearce is a better short term option than Dylan Brown unless you signed Brown to play five eighth and moved Wighton to lock. Imo, Brown and Wighton are too similar and would...

Re: End of year cleanout
What a great thread! Man, do I have some thoughts about the current mob masquerading as first graders. Without any new external signings, 2022 looks real bleak and I mean bottom four bleak. This side is declining rapidly and the coach and CEO are to blame. To extend Whitehead and Croker is a sackabl...

Re: Captaincy and leadership from 2022 onwards
Can we find a player with a surname of Hoover or Dyson? Would be perfect for the leadership vacuum and replace the whinging pom whose only leadership attribute is whining to the ref after every decision as opposed to leading by example. I'm betting the only communication that goes on behind the goal...

Re: Jack Wighton confirms switch to five eighth
I may seem negative to some but what I can't fathom, and it's been going on with Raiders fans for years, is why you all (bar a few) choose to drink the kool aid each and every year and believe Stuart has defied the definition of insanity and can actually continue to do the same thing over and over a...

Could it be Wighton to the Dragons as his salary wouldn't be as high as the 940k Norman is on and not likely to reduce if asked?

Re: Green Machine Podcast 2018
Unless our halves make a massive step up, I don't see us competing and being consistent. There's going to be more infuriating, heart breaking losses and bonehead plays by the usual suspects. Stuart will trot out the line we are a young team still learning how to stay in the fight for 80 minutes and ...

Re: Big League Season Preview
I think we are bottom three material. If we make the eight it will be a miracle in the true sense of the word. I think the Titans will get us in round one. Hooker is not settled and there is a lack of leadership on the field. The halves are still an unknown quantity and then there's Wighton's hands ...

Re: Raiders are the Huddersfield of the NRL
A transfer fee should only apply if the player in question is a junior and has played less than x amount of games. I'd suggest <50 so the risk rests with the team wanting the player. If Brisbane wanted to stump up $1 million for Milford, we are fairly compensated for the cost of his development and ...

Re: Raiders are the Huddersfield of the NRL
We haven't won a premiership in 23 years and we are no closer to winning one in the next 5-10 years. Where is the beacon of hope and even if there was one, he'd be siphoned off to the Roosters or Broncos at the earliest opportunity. I lived as the eternal optimist for years but the number of false d...

We are definitely the Detroit Lions or the Cincinatti Bengals. Maybe even the Minnesota Vikings. We could very well be the Chiefs. Have a strong season, make the playoffs and bam, out on our ****! Oldfield was impressive in the game he played for us. I think he deserves a shot to make it his own and after the season we've had, changes need to be made. Wighton at five eighth has to be the biggest joke ever, right? He was running at pace on Saturday night and simply dropped the ball. He does that **** all the time. There's a number of games we should have been thrashed in this year if you look at the stats. Resilience kept us in those games. In 2016 it almost got us a win, 1 game from the GF with 2 second rowers on the edge against Melbourne in Melbourne. I think you're onto something with the "playing a...

It's looking more and more likely the Cowboys and not the Panthers will be the team to drop out of the eight.
