Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Something else to add. There was a comment or 2 in here about Kris not looking himself. I think that’s a bit off. Strange has been great this year but creating space or ball playing to his center is almost not a part of his game at all atm. Without that play from the inside there is very little a ce...

Mariota looks really good on the edge, wasn’t it him who put Schiller over for his second try? Schiller’s earned another run after this week too, there’s just so much excitement almost every time he gets the ball Schiller looks good with the ball in hand but he needs to get his positioning right in...

Except they picked Blaize, who is the same age and had even less NSW cup games. He hasn’t even played in the halves. Now they pick Asi, who has no kicking game to speak of and has been pretty meh in his first grade games. He has been worse in NSW cup in the games I’ve watched this year as well. San...

Re: 2024 Round 6 v Titans: Game Day

Fogarty really needed that field goal. His last kick in normal time and golden point before that were absolutely disgraceful. Stewart had a good debut but I’m not sure he can sustain that style of play for a season at his age. I think Rapana back in post by will be good timing. You have some seriou...

It’s a stupid ‘entertainment’ concept.

Up to ten minutes of trying to get a field goal or a penalty is hardly entertaining.

Not happy if Strange is out. Weekes straight swap though. Fingers crossed it’s something minor if it’s even true. And I’d rather players of that age miss games than play through injuries at this point.

I can’t argue against Smith. He’s probably the best rugby league player I’ve ever seen. But comments like Johns not being top 3 of the last 30 years is just crazy talk. I won’t accept that’s it’s anything other than parochialism and him being the ultimate divisive character that’s landed a post foot...

I don’t think a 19 year old halfback with 4 games of senior football is the best option very often. Virtually no young halfbacks have had any immediate success in a very long time.

They should have picked Asi 2 weeks ago.

I thought this was crazy.

But thinking about it. He’d purely be the manager (like he was for Qld). Hornby would coach rugby league and Meninga would sort the players out man to man.

I reckon all this media talk has to be drummed up by Sanders’ management. I think Parramatta made a mistake picking Talagi but I’d have picked Asi over Sanders as well. I hope we sign him. But he definitely looks like he needs a season or 2 of Cup before he’s a first grader. Most halfbacks do.

It really is the perfect opportunity to give Stewart a debut.

Therefore I expect to see Rapana rested and Hopoate at 1 at 4pm tomorrow.

And I’ll add that I think it would be once again unfair on Seb Kris to shift him away from centre when there are other better options at 1.

The Schiller conundrum is very similar to early Manly career Jason Saab. Some poor defence. Too many errors.
