Re: 2019 State of Origin II: Queensland V New South Wales

Fergie for Cotric - forced (ankle). Also, out the door for the no BS factor. Turbo for Latrell - cutthroat and BTW really dumb. Did QLD ever drop GI? Did they pick him even when his club form was ****? **** kinda selection is that?!? Morris for Jack - tough call, Morris, while spot filling, was NSW...

Marsh is better in every aspect bar slogging from the very start than Stoinis imo. Marsh in for him. Shaun dropped and Lyon in for a seamer is our only chance imo.

How much has Shannon Boyd fallen down in the pecking order when Saifiti is selected ahead of him. Can’t believe Boyd was a Kangaroo and one stage... Sent from my iPhone using The Greenhouse A well deserved Kangaroo's jersey too. He was a very destructive prop at the time. I think the game has moved...

Bemusement ensues whenever talk of letting Leilua move on starts up again. We’re going well as a team atm. But really we’re struggling big time in attack and people are thinking of moving on the second best centre in the game and our most creative attacking weapon? Really? We’re missing Leilua heav...

Jake T will pack down in a the prop spot for a lot of this game i think. He's going to be NSW's #3 front rower. Exactly right Pig. NR, I think both Jake T and Dale F will spend some time in the front row, but they are middles and thats what middles do. You can say a middle forward is a middle forwa...

Tbf with Klemmer, Woods, Lodge, TPJ, McLean, Fifita, Haas all unavailable for various reasons it’s slim pickings. Tbh I’d have picked Junior Paulo if he wanted in.

Great move from the club again in resting Oldfield. Skips any chance of injury in a pretty meaningless game. He’s a tier above Kris so it’s important to have him in for Cotric while he’s out imo.

Re: 2019 Rd 15 V Eels: Teams and Previews

If Cotric is out I would be moving Whitehead to centre and bringing in Murchie to the bench. Tapine to 11 and Sutton to 13. At this stage, I like Starling over Havilii for the utility. He is fast and adds a little more zip which gives the team attacking options in the last 20 minutes of the game. S...

Danger game here. Really hope Hodgson is back. 1. Nicoll-Klokstad 2. Simonsson 3. Croker 4. Oldfield 5. Rapana 6. Wighton 7. Sezer 8. Papalii 9. Hodgson 10. Sutton 11. Bateman 12. Whitehead 13. Tapine 14. Havili 15. Lui 16. Soliola 17. Kris Why Kris on the bench and not Starling or Guler? Starling ...

I still think he’s going to play a role. Especially when Hodgson is back and we essentially gain an extra running forward. His stints can be shorter and sharper

I’d say he’s just carrying injury or feeling his age tbh. The man is in his 15th year of first grade. So you’d imagine there’s 2/3 years before that as a teenager of essentially being a full timer as well. He was a pretty clever centre as a young bloke, hardened into a great, great second rower in E...

It would work in some cases but it's never going to get a yes from me. Pick your strongest side against the oppositions strongest and let the lower tier guys sort themselves out against the other second stringers.
It’s a 17 man game. Your bench shouldn’t be the next 4 best players imo.

Just moving forward. While Horsburgh is out Stuart really needs to stagger Tapine and Papalii for mine. I’ve noticed we’re banging on about the referees. But really we gave up the ascendency when the middle third was Sutton, Solilola and Lui. I may be wrong, I’m not sure how long Lui stayed on for b...

Re: The Cricket Thread

I don’t know what Australia do in this game. Unless they cut Stoinis from the squad they don’t have an all rounder. It’s either Shaun Marsh in for Stoinis with 4 bowlers or elevate NCN and Carey which would be dangerous. If they play the extra batsman I think they have to play 4 quicks as the 5th bo...

Yeah, there is no doubt the decision to go with Boyd and Paulo over Vaughan were mistakes, but the recruitment this year and the shape the pack has taken now eases that blow considerably.
As we know it had nothing to do with actual rugby league though.
