Re: 2020 Rd 6 V Eels: Teams and Previews *Teams p1*

I’ll be very disappointed if that’s the bench. It’s a no brained for Kris to replace Starling and be a utility if he’s not at centre.

Re: Raiders dealt huge blow as neck injury puts CNK out for up to two months

I’d rather give Simonsson a shot with Valemei on a wing or a reshuffle accommodating Scott I don't think Simonsson is a first grade fullback. He is too error prone. In fact, I think he's struggling to keep a spot in first grade on the wing. That's why I think we should go with the specialist fullba...

I’m hoping to see CHN in for Starling. Provides a point of difference in the running forward group and makes the team a bit less rigid imo.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

A quick scan of starting fullbacks this year. I don’t think Isaako, Will Kennedy or Daine Laurie would be on too much. Dogs have a bunch of possible fullbacks with Meaney, Allen and DWZ. No idea what those guys are being paid. Moylan, MBye, DWZ and Isucko would all be on more imo. All signed to pla...

Re: Dunamis Lui

Also proved me wrong big time last year. I’m very hesitant to write him off. I think he deserves way more than the benefit of the doubt considering the performances he turned in last season while Guler, Hors, Bateman, Soliola and Sutton even? were out. My guess is that season, his age and the origin...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021

I think it went from minimum wage to mid 300k-s? If that’s correct then he is indeed one of if not the cheapest full time fullbacks in the competition. His strength is definitely his positioning, defense and up tempo play when we’re on a role. In fact I think his attacking game is actually closer to...

Re: 2020 Rd 5 V Panthers: Teams and Previews

The more I think about it the more I think Havili is a really key player this season. The speed of the game means coaches are going to have to use their bench smartly. I think Starling will have to play a role at some point and his pace from dummy half could be a telling factor somewhere along the l...

Re: 2020 Rd 5 V Panthers: Teams and Previews

Leave Young where he is, he's gone to another level since winning that jersey Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk I don’t agree with this at all. I think him being kept there defensively makes sense. But he went to another level late last season playing in the middle and he’s continued that. Agree ...

Re: 2021 Rd 4 V Titans: Game Day

We are clearly a top 6 side. As we were last year; and the year before. The question is whether we can take the step up and win it all. On available evidence I don’t think we can beat the Storm, Panthers and Souths when the whips are cracking. We must improve. Do we have it in us? I think we can. B...

Re: 2020 Rd 5 V Panthers: Teams and Previews

Agree with most of the proposed changes. Guler for Soliola. Maybe CHN or Hors for Lui.

With Havili part of the running forward rotation I think a utility back (or CHN if he’s fit enough) are better insurance than Starling. If Scott’s back then that is probably Kris.

Re: 2020 Rd 4 V Titans: Teams and Previews

I’d almost definitely bring Guler in for Soliola who gets a week off simply because those extra minutes would be so hard to recover from at that point in Asia’s career. And that’s almost regardless of the outcome of James, Kris and Tapine. One rubbish game of reserve grade doesn’t change the fact th...

I can't say I'm surprised but am still a bit puzzled as to why Bailey Simonsson is an automatic omission for a bloke who's closer to a second rower than a winger. I guess he's just the easiest target. He's made one silly error in 3 games IIRC not several as is being agreed upon in here. One error? ...

That BMM try was an absolute disgrace. Not to mention about 10 of Egan’s passes from dummy half.

Expected to lose that game given the circumstances but **** me I just wish I could cop a loss now and then and not know the ineptitude of refereeing played a part.

Croker is not Josh Papalii, or Jack Wighton. He's no where near that level of talent, and doesn't have it in him to put on a display like they do. That is inherently the difference here. Suliasi Vunivalu pillaged our defense over and over for several years. I’ll stick with the rampaging call and not crucify Croker for a missed tackle in a game Canberra were never in.

Edit. And followed it up a week later with one of the greatest tries I will ever see in a grand final.
