Re: Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad signs two year deal with Canberra Raiders

CNK is actually a pretty similar player in attacking style to Milne. Game based on footwork, speed and sniffing gaps with virtually no ball play. That being said though he’s worlds ahead. Puts his hands up for the tough stuff and you can’t even compare everything other than attacking style. Defence,...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

I wouldn’t sign Arrow on 800k a season. I’m happy with Horsburgh, Tapine and Sutton juggling that sort of role cap wise. I think the side would be better improved maintaining a similar pack and hopefully licking out on a cheaper power forward who plays less minutes but provides greater impact whils...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

A club with a roster as strong as ours has no chance of signing Arrow. He’ll command big dollars and we don’t have that as we’re banking on what we’ve got to win a premiership in ‘19 or ‘20. Even not re-signing Rapana wouldn’t give us a sniff imo. There are too many clubs out there who’ll pay stupid...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2019

I know we’re supposedly moving in a different direction. But if the new Titans coach want to move Boyd on I’d consider getting him back in if they pay plenty of freight and we could get him for 350k a year or so. Yes the more mobile pack is helping. But having that one big boy on the bench who only ...

3. Hodgson - just a great all-round game, controlled everything, stripped the ball several times at crucial moments, set-up a few tries, just an absolutely brilliant game by our (co) skipper. That outta shut some of those cowards up for a week or two 2. CNK - get 'im up here, I wanna boof him. Apar...

Re: 2019 Rd 17 V Dragons: Game Day

It sucks because Cotric at right centre allays the worry that we lose any point of attack over there without Leilua. It has to be a send off. I doubt anyone in the league community thinks it was purposeful but that’s not the point. I just hope he doesn’t get whacked with a huge suspension. Given it’...

Re: 2019 Rd 18 V Tigers: Teams and Previews

Against a stronger team I’d genuinely consider Bateman at right centre if Sutton is fit to come back in. Given the Tigers left edge isn’t the best though I’d pick Oldfield for this one and see how he goes in terms of who plays there in the coming weeks.

Re: The Cricket Thread

One of my favorite things is cricket fans not differentiating the different formats of the game. Watson was a much maligned player because he never kicked on and became world class in test cricket. But he did in one dayers. By far our greatest all rounder in that format and as I said arguably the be...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Not sure if this has already been discussed, but anyone else think it’s a little silly to have a 50 game month long tournament and yet have semis and final settled by a single game. Why not do best of three for the finals? Because international sport, especially cricket, is all about that one key m...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Carey is a ripper. Stoinis and Maxwell are a waste of space Maxwell definitely isn’t a waste of space. He’s the most dangerous creaming the cake batsman in the world imo. Perfect floating number 6 as long as everyone else is good. He becomes problematic when you carry Stoinis though. Jesus Christ S...

Re: The Cricket Thread

Carey has surprised me no end. It’s sort of come from nowhere this form too. He averages under 30 in first class cricket with half of his games at the Adelaide oval though. Picking players based on white ball performance in test cricket rarely works though. Nathan Lyon is the most genuine exception ...

I’d like to get peoples thoughts on what I reckon could resolve the matter of the Ratana incident. This weekend I also had money on the cowboys who I think would have won if not for Morgan going down due to foul play. Normally when this sort of thing happens it is an important player. A half, fullba...
