Re: NFL Thread

The thing is NR, they were moving the ball nicely with play action as well. Jimmy G was 18/21 for 200+ yards at one point. Chris Jones made a nice play to bat down the pass on that 2nd 5... if not for that the 9ers would've had another cheap completion. In other words, I see that as a good defensive...

The other thing is, if it weren't for the Kittle OPI call, they were in a position to take some shots at the goal line, and at a minimum get a FG.

Re: NFL Thread

In hindsight, you can definitely say they should've gone for the throat. But I think Shanahan's explanation is fair: "They had three timeouts, and it was 10 to 10. The last thing we're going to do there is allow them to get the ball with three timeouts left, especially with their quarterback and the...

Re: NFL Thread

Really enjoyed that super bowl. Happy for Reid, Mahomes and Chief Kingdom. I don’t think Shanahan’s clock management was as bad as some are making out. Not calling the timeout before half time was pretty weird but I can somewhat see the strategy... they were trying to shorten the game and limit the ...

Luke Kuechley retiring. WOOOOOW Shocked. He’s only 28, with 8 years in the league. He implied in his announcement it was due to injuries, and you have to think it’s concussions specifically. He’s earned $60M+ so he’s set. Good for him, but a sad loss to the Panthers none-the-less. Sent from my iPho...

What's the record for points scored in a play off game? We've got 82 so far.
Was that Eagles vs Pats SB I think
Most points is 96 - cardinals beat packers 51-45 in 2009-2010 playoffs.

Today’s game ended with 82 (51-31).

Eagles Pats had 74 (41-33).

Panthers don’t give the Giants the chance to interview Rhule, offering him a mammoth deal and getting their man. Rhule did give the giants the chance to match the offer, but Giants declined.

Giants then hire Joe Judge *blank face*

Re: NFL Thread

I just found an excel document that I put together earlier in the year ranking the NFL divisions by quarterback. The methodology I used was: 1. Rank the QBs in each division 1-4 2. Rank the 8 top-ranked QBs in each division 1-8, and do the same for QBs ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th The rankings were based...

Anyway, while we're giving recommendations, we've now watched the first two seasons of Broadchurch, and it's absolutely gripping drama.
