Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
BB, now you’ve done a complete volte face after asserting that we were in the top 3 for recruitment. This fallacy has been shown up; it’s now dawned on you (finally) that it is a poor reflection of Ricky’s coaching ability in asserting that we were in the top 3 for recruitment yet Ricky hasn’t been...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
We have been one of the better clubs in regards to recruitment. That doesn't mean we have recruited the best players. They are 2 different things. The Raiders aren't in the competition with clubs like the Roosters, Broncos, Storm. These clubs exist in an area on their own where the established, elit...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
HKR - what's the point of making signings if they don't change anything? Well done to the Tigers - they have signed some great players individually but where are they sitting on the ladder? They are bottom 4. Dogs? They have stunk it up and only now playing some decent football. These clubs sign pl...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Again, you are focusing on other clubs and casting stones when you should focus on what the Raiders have done in recruitment of established FG players in the last few years. If we were successful in recruiting the likes of Api, KF from the Cowboys, Dylan Brown, Fifita, hell - even Tedesco from the ...

With Schiller going to Newcastle, Whitehead likely in his final year with us and Harawira-Naera not cleared to play our top 30 for next year so far is: 1. Jamal Fogarty - halfback 2. Emre Guler - prop 3. Albert Hopoate - wing/centre 4. Corey Horsburgh - prop/lock 5. Zac Hosking - second row 6. Seba...

A Roosters backrower should be on our menu. Butcher brothers, Tupinoua, Crichton, Wong. I'd take any with a preference for Wong or Tupinoua. Get it done.

I’d like to have Carbone’s job - do sfa yet still get paid Carbone's job is more pathways recruitment. Ricky decides who to chase for first grade. Apologies to Joel. It wouldn’t surprise me that our recruitment consists of waiting for emails from agents as to who’s off contract. It’s been rubbish t...

Colonel looks outstanding. He's a ridiculously good talent. As is Blaize Talagi. I expect Blaize to head to the Roosters. He's a better talent than Chevy as well. Good to see you sticking by our Raiders players. Calling it as I see it GE. Do you disagree? Yes, I think I do, but I wouldn’t be averse...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders
Once uncle Nick dies I expect the Roosters to fall off a cliff. Robinson isn't what he is made out to be. With the squads and resources he has had he should have done a lot more. One off season signing peak Michael Jennings, Sonny Bill Williams and James Maloney. Shows how powerful the Roosters are...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders
Invigorating discussion. We are talking about Hail Marys here, pure and simple Somewhat, in that you don't really properly know until they're older and into grade. But you sign and invest based on *something*. There seems to be a train of thought here, unless I'm misreading it, that you don't know ...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders
I guess it's just interesting discussing Chevy. Having that number 1 schoolboy rating puts a target on his back and an expectation. I did find it unusual though that he made the Australian Schoolboys side but played on the wing. Keano Kini from the Gold Coast played at fullback. When I compare the t...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
850k at the Roosters is about the same as 1 million at the Titans. Therein lies the problem of the salary cap. However, it's good business from the Roosters. They are doing what they are allowed to do and marketing themselves well. We'd have to pay 1.2 to match that. I don't think he's a good signi...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders
I'm hoping Chevy delivers but I'm the least excited about him of our 3 junior prospects in Sanders, Strange and Stewart. He's shown the least IMO and I'm sceptical all 3 from the one age group can become elite NRL players. I also feel like good fullbacks are a dime a dozen so I'm not too concerned i...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024
Damien Cook? Could be on the chopping block at souths. They'll need to move some freight. Could offer a stop gap for us. I haven't seen him play this year, but from what I've read age seems to have caught/be catching him. I reckon he'd be wanting more than we're willing to pay to get him here as we...

Tedesco look very slow chasing Mam last night. I wouldn't be picking him. He plays a bit like Paul Gallen in SOO. Turbo had his worst game against us. Edwards is in better form than both. Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
We need a system where clubs have more power over players. The draft system in the US essentially entitles the clubs ownership of the players for a set period. I think in baseball their initial deal is somewhere in the vicinity of 6 years. Clubs then earn transfer fees if they decide to trade them. ...

Re: Canberra Raiders miss out on David Fifita
They never replaced Kikau so it's not all that surprising. Roosters will definitely have a crack too. Fifita I'd going to make himself a fortune out of Rugby League. He seems to be coming off contract at very good times. I want to see him in a good team as I think he could be a top 3 player in rugby...

We should make a play for Jeral Skelton for 2025 The fact he hasn't cracked an average Bulldogs side in the last 2 seasons concerns me. Leaving out proven danger men like Addo-Carr and picking that toiler Dylan Edwards is exactly what QLD want us to do. Edwards doesn't have the class for rep football. Can't see Teddy being unseated, but if he is, it'll be for Turbo. Addo Carr is exactly what NSW should avoid. He's fallen off a clif...
