Re: Jack Wighton yet to commit to Canberra Raiders for 2023
Wighton will get what we’re paying him elsewhere, there’s a shortage of his standard and movement coming up at the end of 2022. It’s annoying to see every player who is speculated to be leaving after they were a key part to our GF contentions, fans are happy to kick them on their way out. Wighton ha...

Re: Canberra Raiders hooker Tom Starling charged in alleged intimidation incident
I’m confused why has he requested his residence of address be changed from his ACT address to Central Coast? ‘including his listed place of residence from Watson in the ACT to Avoca Beach on the Central Coast’ If he’s not residing at that address it can be considered a breach, where is he residing? ...

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
Yes I see your point Cat and if that is the case it’s unwise for the NRL to not have protocols in place prior to the season starting should restrictions continue. They have a good three months to form an adequate plan which is a positive.

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
Why do NRL players need to be vaccinated now? IMO it seems a bit out of line with the rest of the world. It's not like these guys aren't being exposed to other unvaccinated members of society. Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
I'm not sure that the decision to release George Williams was Ricky Stuart's decision alone. The public reports indicate it followed a discussion between coach and CEO... and I'd be surprised if there wasn't legal advice happening, and I'd think there'd be consultation with other powers that be, li...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
That's mostly an assumption, and common one to make. In these situations, information is always assymetric. Another club, another set of fans won't see this in the exact same way we do. We should not be fooled here - Wests Tigers are most desperate than us. I repeat - their coach and CEO are hangin...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2021
IF we are going to replace Jack which is highly unlikely, it would need to be with a consistent player not another rocks and diamonds type player like Drinkwater is Cows came 2nd last. Drinky was 11th in try assists and line break assists. Raiders best was Hodgo at 29th and 42nd respectively. He av...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
It’s a difficult situation. Whilst Hodgson has offered some great growth within the club I do feel his time here is done, as someone mentioned previously he’s exactly what the Tigers need. I think it’s best if raiders just put up the remainder and part ways given they back ended his deal I don’t thi...

Who’s uncle nick? What does matter is that Smith isn’t going to consider a whack job club who can’t decide on their roster. After last season you think it would be our priority to have a clear vision, instead we are supposedly shipping Hodgson off to free up some cap space for better signings but Ho...

Re: Canberra Raiders won't terminate contracts of unvaccinated players
My vote for dealing with antivaxxers is to raise income tax by a couple of percentage points across the board to deal with hospitalisation and health services fees. I don't see any of these protesters ever acknowledging the burden they're putting on the rest of society - it would be great to make i...

I'm a big Ricky fan. Love the guy. But apart from tradition, passion, and not much else....what does he bring? Inept use of the bench. Hapless halves. Strange tactics. Relies upon individual brilliance to win games. Sorry Stick. But as a loyal and ardent supporter, you really need to up the ante ne...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
Raiders were the fourth club to offer Smith a deal, after the recent Starling saga they’re prepared to offload him and Hodgson and put all eggs in the Smith basket. Don’t want offer to be made public incase offer is rejected and it upsets Starling. Raiders waiting to hear back on offer before resign...

Re: 2022 Canberra Raiders squad
Keeping Sam Williams is beyond madness and is just a decision born out of not wanting to hurt his feelings. Like what is the point? We already have three other younger halfbacks. Surely he can be of service to an ESL team. It's just gonna stunt Schneider's development who no doubt will still be a b...

Re: Free to leave: Wests Tigers to offer Raiders star Josh Hodgson two-year deal
Regardless of the situation with Starling we need a back up 9. It makes sense to let Hodgson go, sign a back up 9 who has enough potential to play next season should Starling receive a ban. Even if we pay freight on Hodgson we should free up plenty to fill the positions we need to. Hodgson’s been of...

Re: Canberra Raiders hooker Tom Starling charged in alleged intimidation incident
The charges combined don’t carry enough weight to be stood down, thankfully. Will it cause controversy after the way Scott was handled? Yes. Hopefully it can be worked through, I am looking forward to see how Starling goes as our full time 9. Loosing Hodgson and Solliola will be a big loss for team ...
