Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022

I think it would be easier to address CHN's shortcomings and spend nothing rather than spend big money on Martin. As far as Penrith players go I prefer the Leniu rumour. Given the glut of players in the outside backs I think they should look at converting a couple of them to the forwards. Kris been...

Re: Four Raiders to extend their time with the club

I'm a huge fan of Mariota but I think that's a very big comparison to make. Especially when he will be playing in the middle from day one.

Re: Canberra Raiders extend Ricky Stuart's contract to end 2025

I know it's a bit harsh Seif but these guys are 20yo not 18yo, they need to step up to nrl faster. Mooney - 5mins of nrl Esera - miles off debut Asomua - hard to know but behind a lot of guys. Morkos - not looking overly promising at nsw cup. Croker, Cotric, Papalii, Wighton Rapana all were debutin...

Re: Four Raiders to extend their time with the club

It speaks volumes about NRL managers that the only way Woolford felt he could avoid getting shopped around was to use his old man as one.

Re: Canberra Raiders extend Ricky Stuart's contract to end 2025

I'm happy with this. Ricky's one of the better coaches out there and very much the best one we can realistically get Really? We had Bellamy all but signed, but we CHOSE Elliot. Tell me again how we have to settle for mediocrity... The club should have ambition or "wither on the vine" like...

So I think that leaves 2 FG spots for next year? Although I do remember Morkos having a guaranteed spot in the top 30 at some point in his deal.

And there we are. We're down to our last available outside backs in the 22. Fingers crossed Cotric is actually fit because there's only one legal actual back reserve in the squad. There's not really "illegal" players anymore, they could name anyone from outside the top 30 if they really h...

Re: 2022 Rd 19 V Warriors: Teams and Previews

Raiders are amongst the 4 or 5 clubs still playing for the final 2 spots in the Top 8. Raiders play teams above them on the ladder in 2 of the last 7 games. In contrast Rabbitohs are a couple of wins ahead with a very tough run home Not Premiership contenders, but an extra finals game of experience...

Re: 2022 Rd 19 V Warriors: Teams and Previews

Might be thin on outside back if Rapana is suspended. Schiller's injury didn’t look good. Cotric and CNK due back? God help us if we need to revert back to Valemei. I think Valemi is out injured for a few weeks more. Elijah Anderson is pretty solid player and in the first grade squad, and Hopoate i...

Re: 2022 Rd 18 V Storm: Game Day

I would've like to see Mariota get the nod over Guler but I guess experience counts against a team like the Storm.

Hopefully Hoppa actually gets on the park, he looks like he has stepped up a gear compared to his previous first grade stint.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2022

If they do move Guler on they would need to recruit a middle with at least some first grade experience anyway, so it wouldn't help find money for other positions. They won't go into a season with only 3 experienced first grade middles in the squad.

Never been a big Ponga fan at club level but that was as good as it gets in Origin. Papa was solid, especially that second stint where QLD got the ascendancy. It’s a young man’s game at that pace though. I wouldn't be surprised if that's his last game of origin Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk ...

So does that mean Mariota will definitely travel to Melbourne or they could still swap players around? If so, he could be an outside chance to debut if Papalii doesn't back up. He must be just about due.

I'd be pretty keen to see some stats on our scores (F/A) with Woolford on the field and our scores with him off since he debuted. I reckon it would make for some fairly significant reading. Here you go for his first 7 games(based on tries scored not F/A ). Both were on the park vs Sharks when 2 tri...
