Re: 2024 NRL Round 10: Teams and Game Day

Looked more like a shoulder. If it is the same shoulder... it'll be tough to come back again. :nooo :nooo Has he done his shoulder before? Seems it was his bicep last time. It was his pec. Looked like a shoulder the way they put his arm in a sling, but I’m no medical expert. I meant at the Raiders....

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

Yeah, it's actually crazy if you look at how they manage to lose basically nobody decent to another NRL team. Latrell and RTS are the two in NRL history. It's almost like there is an unwritten rule from Uncle Nick that if you want to keep your Roosters privilege's you either retire or leave the code...

Good luck to him, he wasn't getting chances at the Raiders. I must admit I was constantly confusing him with Loghan Lewis (possibly not the only one in this case), and I am glad that he is still at the club.

Looks like James and Numambo are doing pretty well up there.

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

I agree with the sentiment, but the Roosters weren't in the hunt when the Raiders were chasing him (as far as we know). The Raiders lost out to the Titans twice and had given up by the third time. I doubt it had anything to do with Ricky though, given Fifita just turned down the best club side in NR...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

10 years is a long time, you take it back that far and the Raiders have signed Hodgo, Whitehead, CNK, Smithies, Williams, Sezer, Fog, Tapine, Cotric, BJ, Paulo, Raps in that time, plus a heap of decent squad players like Havilli and Lui. I'd only really swap the Roosters for the Raiders list given w...

Re: Raiders player signing speculation 2024

Most of the Dogs and Wests signings don't want to leave Western Sydney and they basically have used Penrith as a feeder club for the better signings. There just seems to be less and less established players willing to move away from friends and family, which makes it a tough market for regional club...

Re: Ethan Sanders signs three year deal with Canberra Raiders

I don’t know if criticism is over the top, but most of it is just unfounded.

I will say Blaize did much look better at fullback but he hasn’t shown much in NSW cup and playing half and center in the NRL. He is very rocks and diamonds when I’ve watched him.

It’s probably not a healthy mindset or attitude to have, but I guess the difference is thinking all the juniors are overrated and then being pleasantly surprised when a couple prove you wrong feels better than thinking all the juniors are going to be rep quality elite pl...

Yeah it works in the US because there’s no external competition for players. The NBA even had to change the rules to force players to effectively go to college or a pro-league for a year because more and more skipped it. AFL and NRL are in the same boat. You might lose the occasional Suaalii to Unio...

Invigorating discussion. We are talking about Hail Marys here, pure and simple Somewhat, in that you don't really properly know until they're older and into grade. But you sign and invest based on *something*. There seems to be a train of thought here, unless I'm misreading it, that you don't know ...

I think most people see it as a straight swap for JFH and respect the Panthers approach to the game enough that its not a bad look at all. Maybe they got a lot of hype on here but that bunch were hardly near the clubs highest rated juniors outside of perhaps Cornish. I've been thinking a bit about a draft today. An external draft could work, but only if development is funded centrally. Under normal circumstances a club losing half their roster wouldn't be in a premiership window. The Roosters probably increase their chances when they do though. The comp is very cooked in a lot of ways.
