Re: NRL ban Jack Wighton for 10 matches, impose $30,000 fine
My issue is that the sentence is so bloody weak. Imagine if any of us, a 'Joe Bloggs' if you will, did this out in town and was charged. At best you would get a minimum two years suspended sentence and probably 8 months in jail for a first offence. Enjoying the luxury of life in a 2x2 concrete cell...

Bloody brilliant signing. Very versatile player and will be great off the bench.

Re: NRL ban Jack Wighton for 10 matches, impose $30,000 fine
He has copped a fair suspension, if not too lenient. 10 weeks, 30K. The club and JW should take it and be quiet. Don is digging them a bigger hole and is making the club more of a laughing stock. He pleaded guilty to 5 charges, the other 7 were dropped. He pleaded guilty.... take the hit. (no pun in...

Re: Is Croker the right captain for the team
I am sure it has been mentioned already numerous times, but I think Hodgo should be Captain. Toots is ok, but doesn't have the ref pull that other captains have. I think Hodgo would be able to do that much like referees boss Cameron Smith does. Why do you think Hodgson would have any more pull? I h...

Re: Jack Wighton pleads guilty to assault charges
Surprise surprise. If a bunch of clowns in an Internet forum going only from newspaper Cliff’s notes can see this coming, what the hell is the club doing? This could just be a bargaining ploy by Canberra to make sure he is available in week 1 2019, they may well see it and fear the nrl see’s it as ...

Re: Jack Wighton pleads guilty to assault charges
If you haven't seen the footage how can people be so sure what happened and therefore what should happen as a result? People are capable of watching the exact same thing and forming very, very different conclusions. I was thinking the same thing last night as I watched Qld win its 10th straight ori...

Pearce got like 7 weeks and a $125K fine for faking a dog photo. That Manly guy got 12 weeks for beating his lady and a $75K fine and then was sacked for driving without a licence. Re: Jack Wighton pleads guilty to assault charges
Police facts, tendered in court on Friday, said the footage showed Wighton had just left a Civic nightclub, about 2.45am on February 3, when he headbutted and punched a man leaning on a shop window. About 2.55am, a man approaches and shakes Wighton's hand, only for the NRL star to shove and then pu...

What about that 29yo half who is debuting this weekend for Saints, Nicholls? pinch him - surely can't be worse than Austin??!??! Sounds like a promising player with a long NRL career ahead of him. If he can play into his mid 40s he’ll be a 300+ gamer in my opinion. I kid, I kid. Still better than w...

Re: Sack Ricky
Here's my thoughts - Ricky has had four years to make something out of this team, he hasn't. He had arguable they best team with the Roosters and lost 2. Had an awesome Cronulla team and lost, picked apart a struggling Eels, then bailed before getting the boot. Took over a Raiders team, who on paper...

Re: Canberra Raiders fullback Jack Wighton pleads guilty to two charges of assault
based off the way the Raiders handled, Monaghan, Carney, Fergo and Dugan you would have to assume they might stay with their normal MO and sack him.

Re: Inability to build pressure
The mid field bombs were clearly the game plan... and the responsibility for that not working resides with the coaches. Fill move those bombs.. no chase pressure, no accuracy, why bomb when you have the lead, no game management when in front. it is terrible to watch. Watching them play this year is...

Re: The Ricky Stuart list
No super talent in that list to start with but the point is there... Ricky is killing the team, especially the halves. The tactics are just wrong, his game plan is horrid, and neither half has any ability to game manage... up by 8, should play smart and keep them down in their half yet the last tack...

Anyone follow the junior leagues in Canberra. I was at an U15's game on the weekend, there is some serious talent in the Canberra ranks. Hopefully some of these kids can convert it to the pro's in the next few years.

From memory of what I learnt in primary school, I think the bit in the middle represents people sitting around a campfire or waterhole 100% correct. The 'u' are representative of people. The circle represents a water hole or in this case a campfire. The other interpretation I can see is that the ca...
