Re: Canberra Raiders' Aidan Sezer again linked to Huddersfield Giants

Best outcome for all parties. Rather than being a fringe NRL player he can to England where he will probably tear it up and earn more money anyway. Wont miss him terribly, overall a very mediocre half who tried his best and ocassionally showed true class.

Re: Canberra Raiders prepared to let grand final centre Joey Leilua walk

I'd be disappointed to lose BJ, though it sounds likely. While our other outside backs are solid he adds that x-factor to our side and we really need it - Cotric / Simo / Croker etc are all solid in my view, but we need someone with that match turning ability. That's right. Solid is top 8, maybe an...

Re: Canberra Raiders prepared to let grand final centre Joey Leilua walk

BJ is a marquee player, the type that can win you Grand Finals (and sometimes lose them). He would have played SOO by now if it weren’t for injury. Not only would I be disappointed to see him go, I posit that it would be a massive blow to our GF aspirations next season. I’m all for giving young lads...

Re: Jack Wighton turns down Raiders option to go on open market for 2021

Is George Williams natural position half back or five eighth? His build and highlights make him appear more of a five eighth but we already have one of those, a very good one in fact. Can he organise an attack, throw a dummy and what’s his game iq like? Those are the things we were missing with Seze...

Re: Jack Wighton’s agent opens up on star’s future

Players aren’t going to accept a massive pay cut because of loyalty. Wighton is worth more than 750k and will need to be around 1m if we’re to keep him. The silver lining of this is it will give us a chance to see if he can back it up next year, or if it was just a one season wonder a la Austin. Bes...

Re: 2020 membership pack

How about we settle on caps and scarves then. It doesnt have to be war. Also some things need to be kickstarted, like the Viking clap. It didn’t just happen out of the blue one day. If the Raiders army suddenly started bringing scarves and holding them up, soccer style, the trend would catch on and ...

Re: 2020 membership pack

Caps lol

If scarves are cheap throw them in the pack, a cap won’t do much on a cold night game. After doing the Viking clap everyone can hold their scarf up and sing the team song

Then we should rip flares and start a bonfire in the grandstands.

Re: Is this last straw for anyone?

I’m still miffed about the whole thing with the trainer incident. Even though it was the most ridiculous call in the entire history of the NRL, apparently it was technically the correct decision and the referee was just following the letter of the law. However the letter of the law also states that ...

I'm not sure what's going on with Rapana. He used to break every tackle and his fend was at one time indefensible, now he looks like a run of the mill winger, can't even push his nose through the line anymore. Still, he has given great service to the Green and I would like to see him re-signed just ...

Re: Is this last straw for anyone?

I think the whole refereeing system needs an overhaul, there’s simply too many rule and regulation these days. Imo refs should be given free reign to adjudicate a game how they see fit, rather that being held hostage by an obsolete rule book. For example with the first scrum incident referees should...

Re: Is this last straw for anyone?

Too much focus on the refs. Tight contents like the gf will always come down to refs discretion , one way or the other. I think there’s a cognitive bias in fans to only perceive bias when it’s happening to their own team and ignore it when their own team gets the rub of the green. Don’t get me wrong...

Re: 2019 Grand Final V Roosters: Game Day

The ball hitting the trainer was the correct call. It's the same as if it ht the ref: scrum to the attacking team. The rules define the "attacking team" as the one with the territorial advantage, which unfortunately was the Roosters. That was just bad luck. Umm no. It’s not the same. One person is ...
